AND one overhead monitor.
i've been a big fan of polk audio home theatre speakers, thts why i wanted to hav polk momos in my car too. but polks are nt bein discussed here, so am wonderin whether i've made a wrong choice r are ther better alternative to the polks.(hertz,focal,etc).
am requestin all gurus n frends here to giv inputs n suggest alternates to my list of items.
and most imp thing-please giv me contacts of a good installer who can fix these in chennai.as i've learnt frm this forum tht installin, damping is as imp as choosin the right system.
am plannin to get all these frm abroad.how much will it cost me here?

Thats good stuff all around Prashanth. You have chosen well. Re the HU you could have got the AVX800 double DIN for around 25K.

Local prices for Polk, Focal et.al. is higher than what you would pay in the US. The diffrential depends on the brand and the distributor's philisophy.

Polk Momo are very good components and you need not be shy about geting them. The reason they are not discussed here is that Polkis not very well distributed in India. Not as well as say Sony, Pioneer or JBL.

I am not uptodate on prices in India but I would assume that you could save 40-50% on the components you have chosen BUT their warranties will NOT be valid.

Lbm,

Can you please calculate the size of ported box for Lm 12" ?

It is 300 watts and D510 is also 300 watts, so does it mean that when i was using 2 subs it were underpowered ?

The speaker RMS power handling does not have to do with that. The GZ will play louder than the Luccent.

Hmm yes I will talk with Ajay Bhai and will let you know about the specs. Also the playing two subs on D510 will wire it at 500 watts. And if we wire a single one it will get 300 watts.

It definitely looks better that way! Not sure whether it sounds better. But then again - sometimes when it looks better, it makes the sound seem better.
