guys..

i posted a thread in the audlio advice sticky and i guess it gets lost with other topics...

i am buying the new wagonr duo. around 50 kms running daily and 100 kms atleast during the weekends.

i am looking to put in the following

1. Audio - Head unit (sony or blau) and 4 speakers (JBL ?) .. What would u suggest ? i know maruti gives only space for a 4'' in front. how abt the back speakers. which is a good place to put them in the wagonr ? the 5th wheel has the lousiest implementation in the duo. need ur thoughts on this

2. Go in for wider tyres and alloys. the g3 potenza + alloys (all 5 tyres) after exchanging stock tyres comes to around 22K in chennai. is that an ok price ?

3. sun control - llumar...

4. power windows (from maruti itself at 7500 for two doors), remote locking and seat covers (g-sport ?)

cheers
Bharani

My cars have a driver side lock that locks the 2 rear windows. In any case with a 2 year old in the back seat you should also have a car seat (I cannot recommend Britax enough they are the best) as well as disable the inner latch (most cars have a small lever in the door panel to do this) so that your little guy cannot accidently open the car door while it is in motion.

Call me paranoid but I did all of the above for my son. Now he is old enough to know better.

for your budget, i would suggest you get a good sony or a pio HU with preferably 2 or 3 pre outs & initially install front components. (I dont really know which is the best). probably hertz, jbl, infinty etc. and a 4 ch amp which will at present only drive your comps, but could be made use of later to drive your sub also.

HU - 12,000
Comps - 6000
4 ch amp - 5000

thats 23k. see your budget is already expanded now.

you can fit 4 inch components in the dash. or choose to fit a bigger comps on the door panels. without the amp, the comps may not sound nice at all. as we seak, there will be some experts dropping in to shed more light on this aspect.

yeah, i think 4" comps are available. my installer wanted to fix one in my esteem & i have just postponed that for the moment, as i feel 6 or 6.5 comps will deliver the best sound.
