DVD Changer Region Code

Hey ICE Experts,

I had a query to make.. all the BMW's imported in India with a DVD Changer have the region code, either 3 or 5, ie they can play only the DVD's with region code 3,5, or 0/9 (All region) much to the annoyance of the customers.. like for eg, they cant play a DVD bought in the US with region code 1. I wanted to know if its posssible to re-code these changers to the all region code (0 or 9) and if so, how and where?

Regards,
Maverick.

It is possible by updating the firmware. Try and check what make and model it is and it'll be easy to find the suitable all region firmware for it.

Yup. it loks exactly the same.. only diff being the model name and no. not there.. and the remote is diff.. i saw the same image on the site. also checked the site.. but not much info. also this sytem was retrofitted in a 7 series and is supplied by BMW AG, the DVD changers fitted in the car as standard by BMW have codes that can be changed from 1 to 6 with our diagnostic computer.. but not this system..
