I have a Wagon R.
I listen to Rock and Jazz....
I heard a similar sized car with a Boom Box set up and jbl player and amp...
it was a good sound ...but too cloudy with bass.
I need a clear and crisp bass and Good treble to hear a Cymbal crash...
I dont need the cloudy club music kind of bass at all...
the reason i didnt want to go for the boom box kind of sound was becasue of the dicky space...
My budget would be a max of 15 grand.
please suggest
Thank you

Listen to Kicker, Hertz, JBL, Infinity, Blapunkt. Tastes are subjective.

Hi herculepirate (Good one, if indeed that is a take off on a certain french detective with a penchant for sirop)

Umm.. that said, JBL doesn't make players (HU's that is).

Unless you mean players.

In which case, me.
But JBL didn't quite make me too. My mummy-daddy did. The old fashioned way.

As far as speaker brands are concerned, all are good, all sound different, it's a matter of taste. Prefer to buy speakers from a specialist manufacturer and don't buy sony speakers. Hope I have shed some light. Now I will shed some hair.

Boom! Nonsensically.

Correction not all brands are good.

However there are many that are. Sony for example has not found favour with most on this forum. Still ,I think, they outsell all the specialist brands put together. Maybe a lot of people like Red Speaker Cones.

I would also avoid Boss, Mapic, Dapic etc...if you have a doubt post the details of your proposed system and you will get an answer from one of us.

I hope to see you've finalised your system and got it running too. In which case, some pics will be thankfully appreciated.

hey...great news..and great sound...
here it goes...
HU: Pioneer 6850 (Rs. 9000)
Rear Speakers: DLS 1269 (Rs 5500)
Tweeters: Kicker EX40 (Rs 2900)
A total of Rs. 18750.

So anyway. I tried playing Primus "my name is mud" and it could withstand the bass and the treble was clear...
i tried 75 percent of the volume and it still held it with all the crunch on the bass end and treble was crystal.
The HU is complicated but definitely worth the money... its great...
I tried Satriani and a few Folk vocals and it held good...
Dying to try out some jazz tomorrow.
ok Along with the DLS i tried out Kicker rear speakers and Morel..
the Kickers were definitely clearest of the 3 but it had less punch compared to the DLS.
please send me your views on this selection of mine.
As a Rock and Jazz listener I am very Satisfied with the selection.
Didnt need the bass boom...rather blow my head off. ..hahah
Thank you

Nice to hear you're happy with the sound. It would be more better if you can elaborate a bit more of the install. How's the speakers, tweeters installed etc..
Or as NAVINJI says: A pic = 1000 words. In your case, we'll be happy with something equivalent to 5000 words.

Do you have any speakers in the front or only tweeters?

Weeelllll no. The setup is not screwed up at all. In fact I am sure it sounds nice and if you are happy with it then it's great.

However, I think you would have been happier with a component set in the front, instead of only tweeters. It would sound much better. Maybe some other time. When you want to upgrade.

Enjoy your music.
