haha...I was waiting for someone to point that out. Actually, the fuel and temp gauge never worked, and I didn't bother fixing them! Ran the car till it ran dry, noted the tripmeter and then went by that reading...never failed !!

One easy way to increase your speedo error is to fit wheels with a smaller diameter and circumference.

If i use wheels that are half the diameter of the stock wheels, then at 195kmph i'll be doing something like 97.5kmph (true speed)

BTW, the Vtec's "true speed" at 195 is 185kmph.

Heres some added Bonanza...The Overdrive 0 - 100 - 0 performance evaluation

The Vtec came in at no.3, second only to the significantly bigger engined E240 and the S 320. Butttttttttttt the tester has stated that if the Vtec was geared to do a 100 in the 2nd gear, it would easily make it the quickest accelerating car in the country!

One for the rich archives, fellas

And it doesn't end at 100kmph or the 1/4 mile. The Vtec recorded a standing km time of 31.08secs (OD road test).

And what did the other performance kings manage?

Toyota Corolla - 31.35 secs

Ford Mondeo - 31.70 secs.

Fiat Palio 1.6 GTX - 34.33 secs

That the Vtec kills the Mondeo in performance was something I knew all along. But I didnt expect it to be quicker than the Corolla! Hail to the Vtec.

Butttttttttt one piece of data that most surprised me from the Overdrive test was the braking factor. I, for one, think that the Vtec has the best brakes in the business. They have excellent feel (though the overservoed nature takes some getting used to) and stopping power is exemplary. However, according to OD the Vtec is way down in the rankings when it comes down to stopping prowess. Only the Esteem, Accent and Ikon had longer times. IMHO, one factor could be the under-tyred nature of the Vtec.

The Vtec took around 54-55 meters to get from 100 to 0 kmph. That's pretty good for a non ABS car, considering that the Corolla takes 66 meters to do the same.

15 meters can make a lot of difference to how it all ends...if you know what i mean.

The Accord V6 on the other hand took just 40 meters!!!! That's has to be one of the best braking in the country.

Hey Aksh

Welcome to Team-BHP. I got my Vtec as a certified pre-owned car and the previous owner had installed the leather seat covers. No, they still havent got loose or faded
