I have a Pioneer CDX-P1270 in my Zen and want to know where I can get the door that comes on the Changer unit as my changer shutter is broken... please advice....

The part number as per http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/...elNum=CDXP1270 is CAT2203 and CAT2204....

With a Sony HU can you get a changer with VCD capability? I need one and want to know the model and the price?

moral fibre, Where did you buy the Pioneer from? There are not authorised sales reps in India but I have seen signs on some shops saying "authorsied service center". Maybe shops like these can help. Sorry cant be of more help.

Aseem, crutchfield.com will give you a comphrehensive list of Sony VCD changers.

There is no information about a vcd changer that works with a Sony HU on crutchfield. So the question remains unanswered, is there a vcd changer that works with Sony HU and the cost associated with it?

VCD changers are mostly FM based any FM based changer will work with any HU. VCD by itself is not a audiophile format. Give me a day or 2 and ping me. I'll try to chase this one later.

VCD changers are identical to Audio CD changers in every respect. They just have an additional video output than can go to any video source.
In fact any respectable techie will convert any audio cd changer to VCD quite easily.

Once that is done, the bus connection between the HU and the changer is still the same, just have an additional video rca jack at the changer.
Some companies have the MPEG board built inside making it a factory VCD changer, not necessarily FM based.
If you get the MPEG mod done, mostly you will have to fit the board on the outside, in a little box (the size of a playing card deck).
