c'mon guys. a 3.5 inch screen is micro mini. what are you going to see in that ? it is only good for the jing bang graphics that pioneers have. a car lcd screen should be at least 7" to be visible. the more the better within 14". imagine the rear seat passengers will have to fight for space to get a good look at that screen. lol

B&T, I've seen that Dual unit. I am not sure if it is built tot he smae standards as their turntables were though.

THe reason i considered it was that it would have allowed me a larger screen since most of my music is on a ipod.

Heck no, I'm not recommending that to anyone. I had clicked a pic when I was abroad, and thats the price I remember it going at. It was just another example of cheap HUs with built in screens.

jkdas: It's a Dual XDVD 8130

It's not a triple din HU. The Dual player was kept on top of some other 2 Din HU in the display. They are 2 seperate players.

Do you really want an in dash HU with good sound, good build quality and a watchable screen?? Be ready to shell out 30k+!! Anything cheaper will have some thing missing from the above.

JVC HU is good. But that screen is not just sufficient for movies!

What do you guys suggest for a HU that has decent SQ and for which a screen can be added later?

I want to change the entire audio setup in the car NOW and get something with good SQ for about 25k that supports DVD playback. I'll buy and add the LCD screen later.

Thanks for the info guys ,i have already posted that am not gonna go for that cheap HU anymore.
Had a budget of around 12-15k so it seemed like a good option but now will wait for sometime as i dont have the resources right now to go for a very high end Hu.!

between jvc, pioneer & sony, the sony Mex-R1 is a better HU with many options. it retails at 12k with B&W. i use one & am thouroughly satisfied with that. JVC & Pioneer are available for slightly less. you can hear it & decide which one is good for you.

That's a neat one B&T. Is it chinese ? I'd think so it was !!

BTW I want to get a DVD HU fit in my Accent. Does the JVC one fit in single din slots ? Accent has the old slots !

I have been using AVX-2 for some time now. I bought it got 18k without B/W about 5 months back. You will not regret the money spent after you listen to the SQ. Apart from that there are lot of tuning options available to help tune it to your taste. Go for the AVX-2

Oh ok thanks. I should consider buying one of these. It's quite neat.

Any others in the 15 - 20k bracket ?
