Polk Momo Demo Car

Here are some snaps of the POLK MOMO demo car built recently by Anwar of Auto Fusion.

I dont have the Polk model numbers, but here is the list of equipment.

1 of Alpine 9855 Head Unit (Rs 26000)
1 of Polk Momo 4 Channel amp (Rs 24000)
1 set of Polk Momo 6.5 Component Speakers (Rs 12500)
1 set of Polk Momo 6X9 Component Speakers (Rs 9500 approx)
2 of Polk Momo DVC Subs (no clue abt the price)
1 of Scosche eFx 1F Capacitor (Rs 7500)
1 of Alpine MRD1005 Mono Amplifier (Rs 28000)
Installation done in fiberglass, Enclosures are sealed , volume approx 0.8 CuFt per sub.

Now, why an Alpine mono ? Anwar said the Polk momo Monoblock could not run the two subs and did not deliver enough juice, though i did not hear the POLK mono play, With the Alpine head and MRD amp setup was sounding nice. Tuned for clarity, subs sounded pretty tight, Speakers were good, but the component 6.5s had too much treble for a speaker at that price range, and started giving up a little earlier than it should have, on pumping up the volume. Overall sounds pretty neat though, pretty crisp midbass at medium volume levels.

Pics below:

I'm surprised they used the original cheap door inserts instead of getting new ones done.

Nice install. What car is it Blueraven?

I can see some crossover kind of a thing in between the two subs. Do the 6x9's have a crossover?

The car's a Baleno, sorry i forgot to mention.

The 6X9s have crossovers , the silver ones are for the front 6.5s and the black crossovers are for the rear 6X9s

Dunno about the sound, but I find the design of the Polk speakers too "disco".

Give me Infinity or Hertz (some models) any day...

Yes and many other manufactuers are going disco too. Seems like Dynaudio, ScanSpeak, Morel etc. will be the only options left soon.

Jeez Sam, Navin! That Morel XO looks like a cheapie centre mounted brake lamp available at Milan Subway. It's not disco - it's freakin' alien!

The mid without the ugly grille looks OK though.
Unlike Kicker.
I reaallly want to.

And I've never seen the point behind those grills. I mean are they protecting the driver from anything at all???
