You got a budget! Think 300 W rms. The cheapest amp for this sub is the JBL 301.1 at 12-14K, then you could get Audison, Alpine, and if you have the stomach Tru Tech or Steg.

hmmm steg.....they few amp which are 0.25 ohms stable .....Sir they make some nice amp...they also have a A-class also....

about clip you can get JBL 301.1 but it is 200 watts rms at 4 ohms as your sub is a SVC....you can get a 601.1 it will give 424 watts at 4 ohms....and you can look for pioneer D510 monoblock it gives 300 watts at 4 ohms....

JBL Car & Marine Audio

JBL Car & Marine Audio

anyways which one you are using now.....

The D510 is a good amp. i forgot about that. I'm told it costs about 10K WITHOUT Bill or Warranty. The JBL amps are with B&W and so are the Audisons, Steg, Tru Techs, etc..I have seen Alpine amps with and without B&W and I recommend getting the B&W.

hi lbm,

im using a pio 944. it would be better i stick on this as the 301.1 gives less power. 601.1 is out of my budet. and i somehow dont like jbl. no offence to anyone.

what about alpine. how much did you sell your mrd 1005 for. dont mind second hand. what amps are you using lb.

thanks

I know a couple of people who want to sell off used Alpine monoblock amps. If you're interested, I could find out whether they are still available, price etc.

i would suggest to keep 944 for the while and get a new one a bit later when you have he moolah to spare....

The mrd1005 would be a over kill for your application it gives out 700 x 2 at 4 ohms....and 1000 at 2 ohms.....it will be better that you get another sub and connect them in parllel to give each of them 500 and make them happy....

Right now I am using Steg K-Series....check out this thread for more info about my setup.....

the 944 was not a bad amp. keep it and save up for the 601.1 or a 1005 (if LBM can find one) it will be a significant upgrade.

tru tech's cost a lot I assume the local prices would exceed 1L.

the tru 2 ch T-2.100 which I think is the most basic series of tru would cost you approx a little less than 40k...if the prices are not updated....it will give you 400 rms in bridge mode.....

Those look like the new AZ Audiocomp Fonomats. That colour & texture is kind of like a signature.
