Re: 1770 firmware update for Maruti-Suzuki SmartPlay Infotainment Systems

1770_181026 is not a major update. As per MSIL Circular, the 1770 update is intended to solve:
  1. Driving at Night screen may illuminate sometimes.
  2. Call by “Contact Name” not working sometimes, while calling through Bluetooth.
  3. Bluetooth related issue with Apple IOS.
  4. Altitude reading in “Position & GPS” info option had the least count of 1 km, after 999 meters, which has been now converted to 1 meter.

Important points to be noted:
  1. Ensure that all 14 files are there in pen drive before beginning the process.
  2. The entire process takes 18-20mins. So be prepared for that.
  3. Do not switch ON/OFF the Vehicle ignition while SLDA update is going on as it will corrupt the SLDA software and warranty will be void.
  4. Do not panic if the screen turns blank during software update.
  5. At 1% the update will stay for a while [2-3 Mins]. It’s part of the process and don't panic.
  6. Do not remove pen drive while Update is still being in process.
  7. Remove the pen drive as soon as screen command prompts.
  8. Once the process finishes, the system will reboot 2 times. It takes time, so be prepared.
  9. After the second reboot, there won’t be any display. Don’t panic here. Just press the power button. All should be well.

This is very useful information and crisply shown . Firmware update should be done very carefully otherwise you run the risk of making the system dead. That is why maruti does not roll out these updates publicly, it can only be done at MASS.

By the new interface, do you mean the ones found in the new Brezza or Ignis or Dzire etc? That's an entirely different system, made by Harman. The older one is made by Bosch. So getting the same interface can happen only if you change your system.

Ya. Not sure what these guys at service center meant when they said they’ll update the new interface when I dropped the car for service. They didn’t make any updates despite claiming to do it. But I became curious as to how they’d update on a old device.

Thanks again for reconfirming sir.

Regards

Re: 1770 firmware update for Maruti-Suzuki SmartPlay Infotainment Systems

First, I thank the Moderators for allowing me to post my question on the Team BHP Forum.

I found this Topic when searching for new Firmware for my Suzuki with a Bosch Infotainment Unit. MY Suzuki currently has Version 1770 it was installed in August 2019.

I am now looking for the ZIP Update File for the new Firmware, 1780-190821. If anyone is able to assist me in finding this File I would be most grateful.

Thank you
George.

Thank You all for the help.

The car has now been sold so the software/firmware is no longer required.

Moderators, please delete my two posts if this the best protocol.

thank you, George

Re: 1770 firmware update for Maruti-Suzuki SmartPlay Infotainment Systems

Hey All...

I'm trying to revive this old thread in order to get guidance and the correct and the latest files for updating my S Cross (2018 model) Bosch music display update as I'm unable to pair my phone (having Android 12) with Android Auto.

Thanks & Regards
