Audio Upgrade for my Swift (Kolkata)

Hello,

I was planning an upgrade for my Swift.
I am based at Kolkata.

Current setup :

Receiver : Sony GTX350
Speakers : Sony Xplod 6.5 " 3way speakers at default door locations.

I was planning to upgrade the front stage to component speakers.
Also planning to buy an amp to enhance the sound.

Expected setup :

Phase 1 (to be done right away)

Front Speakers: JBL/Hertz Components
Amplifier : JBL/Alpine 4channel
Complete Rewiring of the car.

Phase 2(planned in a month or 2)

Rear Speakers JBL Co-ax (connected to the amp)

or else keep the Xplod 3way Co-ax(non-amped) and go in for a JBL tube powered by the amp.

I was looking for specific help on good installers in Kolkata who can setup the 3was compo's in front very discreetly(quality modding of door panels) and no tweeters in the dash.

Also looking for suggestions from you all on the wiring front.

Regarding the amp I have narrowed down to the JBL 4-Channel Full-Range Amplifier - CS60.4
or an Alpine MRP F240 second hand.
A comparative feedback on the amps would be great.

Look forward to your suggestions, and it would really help if you could recommend a professional installer in Kolkata.

Tx,
AB.

Try Glix in Alipore. They are the best installers in the city (IMO) and they are JBL dealers too i think. I get all my cars done from there. Talk to Abhishek/Vinay Daga.

how much are you getting that Alpine amp for? It could be a sweet deal. Just ensure its not the fake one.

Gunbir,
Now is that a good deal?
I am not very happy about the fact that its not under warranty.

B&T,
if its 3 months old, its still under warranty for a further 9 months.

Infact, I was more interested in an opinion on if its a good deal compared to the JBL 4 channel, which I am informed is not in stock in Kolkata now.

I meant to say that warranties are usually not transferable, applicable to original owner only.

I dont know which JBL you are considering, but the 240 may sound a bit pleasant compared to the CS60.4 but not as powerful, but the GTO75.4 is certainly better and vastly more powerful than the 240.

I have heard the 75.4 vs a 340 and while the 340 was sweeter the 75.4 was more balsy. I suspect the same for the 240 vs 60.4. the 240 would be a touch sweeter and the 60.4 would be a touch more balsy.

Incorrect info, AFAIK. Pick up an Autocar and call the west bengal distributor (Mr. Golcha at Silverline) directly, he may guide you correctly. Drop a name or two over the phone.... lol...

Thanks for the updates.
The budget is 20 -22k for a pair of components, an amp and rewiring and damping.
I missed this detail out in the original post I guess.
Sam, I have the Silverline details in a PM from you, so will definitely give them a call.
I was also looking at Hertz components.
Can anyone give inputs on the Hertz DSK vs the ESK.
Differences in sound output, tone and if they are worth the additional 50 % for the ESK. (DSK : 6k & ESK 9k)

Thanks.

ESK would definetly be worth the extra 3K. IfF you can stretch it...HSK wil rock even more..i think a 2 way will be for abt 15K.( approx i guess ).

I would also keep a budget for door damping if installing components..and soem for the boot if putting in a sub.
