Best factory-fitted audio system in cars under 17 lakhs?

I love listening to music on my long daily commute but at the same time I don't want an after market installation which will void the manufacturers warranty.

All the Tatas have Harman based systems which are great(top trims with full speakers ).

The newest entrant Seltos has Bose speakers !

EcoSport and venue have decent outputs as well.

Wire cutting, wire tapping, drilling holes or such voids warranty.

I really doubt if installation of plug n play type music system setup would void warranties.

Last of all, if some one is selecting a car regardless of its type (SUV vs Sedan vs Hatch or such) performance or other aspects and only concentrating on its music quality, then I guess no factory fitted setup would please him/her.

Thanks.

Hexa XT model has the best sounding stock audio system. 10 JBL speakers including a center and a sub, all powered through a 320w amp. Audio quality via USB cable is damn good.

Re: Best factory-fitted audio system in cars under 17 lakhs?

The MG Hector has a superb audio system! I really enjoyed the bass & treble. The newer-gen Tatas also have nice sounding systems (especially the Harrier & Hexa). I like the sound quality & excellent head-units of Fords too.

Overall, I have noticed all manufacturers improving their SQ. That's a good thing as I'm not a fan of ripping open my new car's doorpads, messing with the stock wiring or living with frequent tuning / reliability headaches - related thread on the downsides of after-market ICE installs.

Re: Best factory-fitted audio system in cars under 17 lakhs?

I guess its a relative preference, but I found that the OE system of my Polo GT TSI is quite decent and punchy, without distorting the mid/high frequencies. I listen to a range of music from Indian classical to Afro (Mali/Gambia) to Mark Knopfler/U2 , and in comparison to say, my Honda City, the system feels tight and fairly crisp.

Not many speak of Skoda Auto VW India Pvt. Ltd. (SAVWIPL) when it comes to sound quality. They too give excellent sound systems in their cars. Many say they too have the same setup as the newer Tata's but like Tata Motors, you dont see SAVWIPL marketing this on any of their official advertisements.
I have known many people going in for the Nexon, Hexa and now the Harrier only because it has the best sound system in their segments. No need of any additional upgrade or wire cutting.

Re: Best factory-fitted audio system in cars under 17 lakhs?

I quite like the compass' audio system, and eco sports audio system is good as well. I wouldn't suggest getting a car based only on the audio system, and instead this is my suggestion. My friend owns a polo GT, and his audio system was really mediocre. He added a good bass booster, and suddenly, the quality of the audio had massively improved. You would have to compromise on boot space though, and I think this wouldn't void the warranty.

I'm quite impressed with the alpine set up on my jazz (2009). never needed to install aftermarket components. The lack of Bluetooth and USB does pinch though. Regardless, the sound quality is still meaty even after a decade!

Re: Best factory-fitted audio system in cars under 17 lakhs?

I found the OEM sound setup of the Skoda Superb L&K and the Audi A5 very good

The new TATA's also have great OEM sound systems. The Jaguar has a lovely speaker setup.

And then the top of the line cars like the Maybach and BMW 7 are in a league of their own.

I have a Mitsubishi Outlander which has 9 speaker Rockford Fosgate system. I think it was one the best stock audio setup that time.

Also I remember Renault Koleos was offered with Bose stock audio system which had some great reviews.

I'll add Ford Fiesta too in this list.

Even though it is a simple system with no frills comprising of four 5x7" speakers, the output is fantastic. It is the speaker placement, especially on the rear shelf (parcel tray) that makes the system sound excellent.

All that's missing in that setup is - damping. If this done for the 4 doors and rear shelf where speakers are mounted, will make a huge difference in overall SQ.

I second that, I recently bought a Venue and I am pleasantly surprised with the sound output from stock speakers. Good amount of bass and overall happy with the stock setup.
