Hi, I am driving my Laura from 2011 and am planning for Upgrading the stock ICE to Pioneer 5290. I need advise on the components and amp. I am not a great bass lover. Also suggestions of any good shop in Hyderabad is appreciated.

Hi JoshMachine, That's an awesome upgrade. I am new to this forum and landed up to this page during my search for an upgrade. I am interested in this system as well. Could it be possible to get the details from where you sourced this unit. I have a 2013 Vento and may need a canbus adapter to make it work.

IIRC, the 2013 Vento (being a pre-facelift model) will require the canbus.

Hi, not entirely sure of the 2011 set-up. However, from what I have seen of other pre-2015 models, yours will require the canbus adapter if you want to use the RCD 340.

Needed some help. Is the RCD attached below Genuine. This ones available in Kochi with a supposedly 2 year warranty. There are lot of discrepancies regarding the 6 button RCD 340 - online. Would'nt want to waste 28K on a fake unit.

Also, Is there a contact in Pune-Mumbai who is selling RCDs in the current moment. All the help is appreciated. Thanks!

I believe these are available from VW directly at a similar price. Would just be better to get it from there as you are right, there are a lot of variations on the market.

I think it’s a no brainer, honestly. Installing the 340G Plus in my Vento was the best decision I’ve made as far as making my driving experience better is concerned. The fact that these units are Compatible with all Polo based cars is amazing.

I had a question for you though - Have you tried using apple carplay? In my experience, using Apple carplay feels slightly smoother when I compare it to android auto. Does this depend on the phone’s processing power or is it just another case of Apple’s hardware+software integration?

For reference - I use Apple carplay regularly on my iPhone 7 Plus. And I’ve tried android auto using a oneplus 6T .
