What Music?
Any amp?

Tthere are many specialist speaker brands out there. Why not let YOUR ears decide.

If Budget allows, why not look for a comp in the back rather going for coax.

Rather than spending big bucks on great rear coaxials or compos, I would suggest you upgrade your amp first, get yourself at least a JBL 60.4 amp.
After that even mid range coaxial speakers costling between 4500 to 5500 will sound nice.

No, i think he has the 554ZR.

He would lose a lot in upgrading his amp. instead just getting good JBL or Boston ovals for the rear would suffice unless he is in a mood to splurge.

Would you please post the current setup as of now. That will be easy to determine what suits best for you.

As of now, I have collected this bit of info from different posts here. You have Components but dunno what make and model. You have Sony 504z amp but dunno what it is connected to other than the bass tube.

It would be better to go for a 6.5" co-axial of the same type as your components.

Boston is a very like it or hate it sound. I suggest he listen to it first before he buys.
Since he has the sony amplifier, this quest for "The best rear speakers" is misleading.
There are car coazial speakers that cost 15-20 grand, available in the market. They warrant a critical install, critical components and most certainly not a sony 554 amplifier.
Don't get me wrong, I think you should limit your budget to 5000 for a rear speaker for your sony amplifier and it will sound lovely.
The brands have been mentioned. Buy one you like (If you can hear them) or one you trust (If you can't)
