Need suggestion on speaker set

Hi,

I am new to car entertainment system. Music is not my forte and don't really understand much of the technical details of sound, except that I can differentiate between sound and noise.

I have bought a new Maruti Swift and pre-owned a SONY Xplod CDX-GT710S (this one I got from US).

I need suggestion on good speaker/amplifier set, but not very expensive one and also need advice on where to buy and get it installed in Bangalore.

Thanks

-Amit

What is your budget?
How much space are you willing to sacrifice?
What music do you listen to?

BTW There is a sticky on systems upto 30K.

my budget will be between 5-10K. space.. I am not willing to put a rack in the trunk, and hence that leaves me with the doors and side walls of the trunk.

the type of music I listen to -
1. Radio on the move within the city.
2. Hindi music, old melodies and sometimes - Pop, hip-hop etc.

under 10K there is no need for an amp. just get 4 good speakers that fit in the stock locations. For under 8K you can get 2 pairs of good 6" coax speakers.

for 10k you can get a component in the front and a co-axial in the back door....or you can put a tray (which you dont plan todo) and add ovals there will add alittle bass to the overall sound......as the rear door speakers are not worth using....belive me I also have a swift......

but what a Swift!

BTW you can do as LBM says. Use 5K for components up front and 4K for a pair of 6x9 in the rear deck and 1K for a MDF deck. However you loose the original deck.

I couldn't see the replies yesterday, thanks for the replies.

Can you also suggest the good decent make/model for the speakers. I checked out JBL at Sound Factor and they seem to be expensive. Are they really worth it, at this price range.

no Navin Ji it can be mounted on the orignal tray which is supplied by the maruti people....but we have to reinforce it with 1/2 inch mdf board which should be bolted along the tray and covered by carpet to match the interiors....

The original tray is kinda flimsy. My wife wanted bass and a tray that would lift up with the rear door. So I took her tray and reinforced it with fiberglass. the fiberglass added stiffness but not so much weight as MDF. The bass is still a bit boomy at times though (a) becuase the woofers are in free air and (b) there is a lot of junk in her trunk and one her rear deck.
