I was having a chat with Anwar yesterday about the same and he told me this,

The owner of the car specifically did not want to add an amp and wanted one of the best Component Speakers available which will need to run on a Pio DVD Player he already had. Anwar said the XR series 3 Ways produce very loud mids and that cannot be controlled significantly without an amp. Hence he placed the drivers closer to eachother than Ideal cos otherwise the sound would get very very irritating inside the cabin.

Indeed Even i felt the same, Guess the owner of the car is kinda strange cos I am dead sure he has paid the money to get himself two decent amps to build that doorpad.

And let's not forget how much he must have paid for the 3-ways! Maybe he'll add an amp later. I hope so, for his sake.

Running three way passive components with HU is just dumb.

I wonder how 15 Watts of HU is divided among 3 Drivers and crossover . Instead of expensive 3 way (nearly 50K) installed in custom door panel he should have gone for 2 way components in stock door panels with 4 ch amplifier and a decent sub.

Did you listen to the setup? How do you find it?

You said that the customer wanted the best component system. How is one with such an imbalance in the mids regarded as the best? I also just noticed that the MRP on that compo system is 44000 .
