Thanks for the suggestions and quick comparison .

I realised that every product has its own advantages and disadvantages. Decided to wait for some more time and then go ahead with the DSP.

I have Morel Tempos in Baleno and they sound so relaxing. I never had to switch off the music during long drives. Gladens in my S-Cross are quite neutral sounding, but it does result in listening fatigue at higher volumes. I still like the Gladens setup, but the cheaper Morel Tempos have spoilt me for long drives.

Welcome the Morel Virtus

re: S-Cross ICE. JVC HU, Morel Elate Titanium 603, Helix DSP.3S, Audiofrog sub, Mosconi & Rockford Amps

I had bought Morel Virtus 602. Plan was to add dsp, mid range, and an additional amplifier after couple of months. I was ready to get the Virtus installed, but got too tempted with an amazing offer for Morel Elate Titanium 603: 3 way components.

The deal from Motorogue

That was massive discount and these speakers are well known for their sound quality. I just picked it up. Motorogue shipped it very next day and the packaging was also good.

Look at those massive and beautiful cross-overs, they can be biamped too

I was super impressive with the quality and construction of all the components. I couldn't wait to get them installed and hit the roads to Kochi

Installation was done at Galaxy Kochi. They did a superb job. A pillar work to install tweeters and mid range was too good. Rockford T600-4 was biamped (all 4 channels used) to run the Elate Titanium. They also installed an Audison SR4 to run the Subwoofer. It's a temporary solution, I might upgrade the sub later with a mono amp. The entire wiring for speakers were changed to Gladen 14AWG (made in Germany).

I was mindblown when I heard the setup for first time. The staging was excellent. The speakers did get better after few hours of listening. They sound damn sweet. I have never listened to such amazing tweeters before, it's that good .

The Complete Setup

1. JVC KW-960 HU
2. Rockford Power T600-4
3. Audison SR4
4. Morel Elate Titanium 603 components
5. Gladen M Line 10 Subwoofer
6. Gladen 14AWG speaker wire
7. 4GA & 8GA power cables

What Next?

1. Helix DSP 3.0
2. Morel Ultimo Titanium Subwoofer
3. Good Mono Amplifier (yet to finalise)

Re: S-Cross ICE Upgrade | JVC Head Unit, Morel Elate Titanium 603, Gladen M Line 10 Sub, Rockford Am

Amazing set up. I am sure its a feast to the ears. The custom made A-pillar looks so neat and speaks of the craftsmanship. I really wonder that we kolkatans are debarred of such good places for ice modifications.

Talk about motivation for an audio system upgrade, Well done Doc.

I`m sitting on the fence, been sitting on the fence for about 7 years , need some motivation to take the plunge and upgrade the stereo system. Time to make a list and spend some time on it.

I have been looking at the possibility of a 3 way component system with A pillar mount just like yours, looks like a custom made one, this fits well. Is it designed for Morel or will other brands fit into it?

It's a custom job done on OE A pillar trims. Other brands would fit if the size matches

Can I suggest a JBL GT bass pro 1200 watts subwoofer with an inbuilt amplifier. I have one in my car and it's been more than 4 years. Didn't have to change my speakers. And the result is crisp bass which complements each and every song. Makes the experience more realistic. See reviews or videos on youtube.

Yes, that's a must

I am also looking at amplifiers with inbuilt DSP.

Haven't decided yet. Few friends suggested not to spend 1 lakh + on a subwoofer. So I am considering Eton Move 10 too.

I have spent close to 3 lakhs already on audio upgrades for S-Cross . I can spend, may be a lakh more on DSP, Subwoofer, and Mono Amp.

Nakamichi DSP has very good features and the price is super VFM. But, I read mixed reviews like Nakamichi is not what it used to be.

Mosconi has good options on Amplifier + DSP combo.

Look at JL Audio 12W3v3-4 (500W) SQ oriented subwoofer that has killer performance. Great reviews worldwide. Also the option is Arc Audio Series or X2 series subwoofers. Another option is the Helix Q-series and K-series subwoofers.

These are in the 25,000-30,000 range.

JL Audio TwK88 is another great DSP, Mosconi has pretty good options. Check with BBW distributors once.

Re: S-Cross ICE Upgrade | JVC Head Unit, Morel Elate Titanium 603, Gladen M Line 10 Sub, Rockford Am

Hello Dr Naren,

Your Thread is really informative. request you Please help me understand the below:

1. Does s-cross 1.6 D Zeta and/or Alpha stock Head unit have 3 pre outputs?

2. I have used morel maximo (90 RMS) components powered Blaupunkt AMP1804BT (100 RMS) on 4 channel mode in 2014 they were decent but It did not get a very loud (as loud as people around 20m radius can clearly hear and understand the lyrics on a busy street) let me know morel elate titanium could achieve that kind of loudness or which other cheaper option suits.

3. I was scanning through this sight (https://www.caraudionow.com/best-6-5...-car-speakers/) for top 10 component speakers and one of the cheapest ones was
JBL STADIUMGTO600C or Focal Performance K2 Power165KR2. what is your opinion about them for playing loud music.

Stock HU doesn't come with RCA pre outs.

Elate Titanium is one of the premium range speakers by Morel (MRP: 2 lakhs). They are power hungry and if you feed them loads of power, they will sing loud.

No experience with any of them.

Music sounds to be rich and nice. A pillar fitment is also fantastic almost looking OEM. What have you done with older speakers?

I agree . The music is sweet and the sound staging is too good.

I sold the Gladen speakers and Pioneer amplifier to a fellow BHPian. He has installed in Creta and very happy with the setup
