Looks like this is for the MQB platform.
The adapter cable which is supplied is for PQ-MQB.
I have 2 issues once the unit is plugged
1. The unit does not get the signal that the ignition is turned on. So Bluetooth, steering controls and music system button lights are not working. However Apple CarPlay is working.
2. The auto AC is in a continuous ON/OFF cycle, which is the main worry.

Is there any decoder or something which is needed to be connected to the yellow wire which is hanging loose in the adapter?
The yellow wire is connected to the battery pin on the system.

Anyone has been successful in fixing these issues or it’s better to get hold on an RCD340 .
Need help form the gurus.
The Quadlock connector for the MQB and PQ platform cars has a pinout difference. It's not the same for both platforms.

If you want to retrofit an MQB unit to a PQ car, you will need something called a PQ to MQB Quadlock harness else you will get a malfunctioning HU with some CAN functions (such as the climate control in your case) misbehaving since the CAN+ and CAN- are also wired differently as Gannu mentioned.

I have the PQ to MQB harness. The picture of it is posted in the first post. All the pins are matching exactly.
Looks like there is another type of harness with what they call a decoder and that might be required.

How much would it cost to get this in 2019 Polo, if got it installed at VW dealer? I prefer to maintain the original look as much as possible.

It depends on which car you are installing this in. If your car had a RCD 320 as a stock HU, decoder should not be needed since the Quadlock already comes with the CAN wires in it.

If it is the RCD 030 however (the first HU seen on Polo/Vento in India), then you will need a decoder.

If you want to buy it from VW directly, there's two ways to do it. If the dealership directly bills you for it, you will pay close to 44K.

A second option is to get this HU under the repair order scheme. Basically, VW treats the HU as a non repairable entity. In case it fails, they have provided a special concession rate to customers so that they don't have to overpay for a new one. If the dealer orders the HU under this scheme using the specific part number, it comes in at around 23-24K. Ask your dealer and find out once.

Hello!

I have ordered the same unit from the same seller. Have you solved the issues?

Hi! I have installed the RCD360 Pro from lemonshark in my car, and everything works like a charm. I used this ISO to Quadlock connector and Ankit from Durvient also helped out with the installation, which in the end was a pretty straightforward process.

Hope it helps!

Great to know that its working perfectly in your car.
My car already has a quadlock connector but the pins are different from the ones on RCD360.
It doesn't work with with a proper Quadlock to Quadlock adapter.

Re: How to get Apple CarPlay in my VW Polo?

Hello fellow BHPians,

I'm taking delivery of my new Polo Comfortline AT in a couple of days. The default Blaupunkt SAN MARCOS 370 multimedia system does not come with Apple Carplay or Android Auto. I'm looking to upgrade this to a system that has Carplay and Auto.

The OEM unit on the Highline plus and GT TSI is prohibitively expensive and am okay with 3rd party units from any good brand like Blaupunkt, Sony, Pioneer etc.

Can I please get some suggestions? Budget is between 25K to 30K.

Thank you so much in advance!

Bumping this thread. Any reliable contacts in Pune to get this replacement done? I’ve got a 2015 polo GT TSI and it’s bone stock since I’ve got it.

Hey! Thanks for responding looking to replace the head unit in my polo with something that supports CarPlay. Do you know any trusted sources who can help me procure and install?

Re: How to get Apple CarPlay in my VW Polo?

Does the RCD 360 have wireless CarPlay? Preferring a wireless model!

No, 360 is same as 340 but minor changes, none of the VAG PQ platform offered Wireless Carplay/Android Auto, it always required an additional device.

Re: How to get Apple CarPlay in my VW Polo?

I contacted the local VW dealer in Gurugram today and they said VW has stopped selling head units for polo. I find it absurd, is there a trusted contact in Delhi where it can be sourced?
