Reg - Esteem audio suggestion

Hi all,
I am a new member here. Just now, i bought a 2002 Esteem Vxi. The car is now having Sony XRC2600 cassette player. It has cd changer option too. It also has a built in power amp which sounds pretty good. But, now i am confused to whether just to buy a HU and connect it with the existing amp or change the complete audio setup. As, I am new to car audio, pls give me your valuable suggestion.

Regards
Mohan.

1. The sticky on this forum Systems from 10-30K can help
2. TO help you better we'd like to what you are willing to spend (each budget has different possible combinations and permutations) and what you listen to.
3. Are you willing to sacrifice boot space for a sub?

Navin,
My budget range is from 12k to 13k. In case of good quality, it can be stretched up to 15k. But not more than that. Ya.., I am ready to sacrifice my boot space.

I am sure the gurus would like to have the specifications of the amp that's already there in the car.

At 15K your budget wont leave money unless you want to eliminate the rear speakers for now.

Option 1 (no rear speakers)

HU: 4K Pio 2950, Blau Mumbai
Front Speakers (coax): 4K JBL, Blau Thx/Odx
Amp: 3K Sony 552
Sub in box 4K Pio 306/7C in box or maybe the new Free Air sub from Pio on a MDF rear deck.

Option 2 (no sub)

HU: 6K
Front Speakers: 4K
Rear 6x9: 5K

Plan it

Well as navin has already given u better possible options, here i would like to share an view on this.. if you are too concern about sound and wanna better ICE then go step by step if budget is tight this gives u space atleast to get on to best ones. Rather then a compromise

Only if u are looking for Better ICE option else u may go as navin suggested over here....

Erode is a popular town in Tamil Nadu, I think its famous for cotton as well. btw, coming back to topic, you what amp do you currently have, mohans_raj2004 vbmenu_register("postmenu_441720", true); ?

Try to keep the existing amp and speakers (you said that it sounds pretty good) Go in for a sub and a new HU.

No, it is the right turn after fff-road just before the ddd-road. Man, your humour sounds so serious in the beginning before making me laugh out like this

Hi Mohan,

Since you already have a CD changer, HU and power amplifier, I think the right thing to do is to get some good speakers and have them fit well.

I know a guy called Sri Vignesh Car Jewels in Erode. Check with him, he has many good speakers of various brands.
