I have always maintained that for car audio Focal if amped properly is fantastic. Mind you they require very nice amps. Focals powered by a Sony 554 would sound irritating much more irratating that the Dyn 240 (becuase of the HF character).

For home audio Focal/Morel/ScanSpeak/ are "ok to good" but there are far better speakers.

Navin you are right, but due to the massive size of Esotar tweeter (magnet weighing close to 700 gms and required a mounting hole dia of 110mm, 4.33") it was difficult to install and use them in car audio environment. The only place you could find for them was on the dashboard of the car.

Dynaudio used to carry 2 Way Esotar based system for car audio called system 240 Esotar with retail price of USD 1700, but they have excluded this combination in the new Esotec range.

However Esotec is quite an improvement over outgoing tweeters.

Pre internet days (ok the internet was alive but this forum and other car audio forums were not) I have seen the Esotar installed in a Passat door. Funny how so many people will take a perfectly ordinary car and turn it into a "studio on wheels" with some extraordinary audio equipment.

From the posts and the location (not yours, Navin & Moral), I think I know too [I think I'm getting very good at guessing].

Ishaan, we are talking about actual reality, not your 2 parts virtual reality 1 part wet dream cocktail. Get outa your dreams, get into your car (which happens to be an OHC, not an E46 M3 CSL).
