ICE on the rocks!!

Hello there.

As some of you may know, I’ve been traveling again. As part of my work, I visit some very interesting car audio installation places.

Let me introduce to you - The Sound Shake, Bangkok, Thailand, a place built for ICE, music and party enthusiasts.

It is a JBL car audio pub and as you can imagine, it’s fun fun fun all the way. The place does some really fancy car audio installation work and their installation is top class. Not to mention their frozen margeritas and caipiroskas. Oh it was an interesting seminar to say the least and what can I say, I love my job!!

The place is pretty massive, the main room, which is also the pub. There are interesting demo boards all around and one can listen to almost every speaker before deciding what he wants to buy. The selection of car audio (JBL and Infinity only) is massive and head units are mostly clarion and alpine, but one can bring in their own HU’s and have it installed here.

A massive and very interesting toilet (I ran out of battery, so no pics of the loo) and many entertaining zones. Upstairs is a private lounge that also functions as a private karaoke and home theatre room. Also there is a large room that was converted into a seminar hall for us.
Great, cool and knowledgeable staff. Almost everyone is able to recommend the right speaker for the right car and a great bunch of installers. The DJ spins some wicked house music and overall it’s an incredibly fun experience to go there for an install. Typical JBL flamboyance in everything. All drinks are on the house for your friends and you during the install. One can also go there and buy drinks later.

There is an Infinity Toyota Jaris (?). The dash does not allow you to change the HU, so they have come up with an interesting way to mount the HU.

The installation area is at the back and I learned a lot from watching them work.

I thought I’d share this wonderful ICE experience with you guys. One day, I promise you, we will have this and more in India. And we will party there together.

So you need a co-driver just to control it? is that a Drive+Play under the steering wheel.?

Thank you N_C!! Happy to be back. Here are some more pictures of me hard at work. It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it.

Great place, Sam! Setup something like this here with professional installers, and I'm sure you'll be laughing all the way to the bank! What most people in India really don't have here is accessibility to good & reliable installers.

lovely setup Sam. Nice concept. I like. Open one in India and you will have a lot of drunk TBHPians lounging there permanently.

Holy.....!
What does it cost to join your company, Sam? If it doesn't cost a beard, then shall I apply?

Man! That a lot wonderful world of ICE there. I can understand the amount of fun an ICE install can do without all these. So, just imagine what it would be with all these EXTRAS thrown in!

Thanks for sharing the pics with us.

Shall I ask for more? (I know you have more!)
