Thanks sam.
With HU+Amp for 19K I can manage a subwoofer in a custom made box for around 6K.
Now coming to Compo's
I understand 507 is smaller than 607.
What about
CS2165C? What is the difference between this and the 507/607 series?

Another confusion is the component dilemma.
Suppose I fit a very very good 6" loudspeaker in the door and let the amp drive it.
Then I fit the best quality 4" 2way speaker in the dash and let HU drive it, will it give me good SQ?

What if I go for a 6" 2 way thing in the door and a simple 4" loudspeaker in the dash. Too bright?

I am leaning away from 6"+tweeter combo(all component sets have tweeters right) because the tweaters I have listened to are shrilly. don't know about the JBL ones though.

So to rephrase my question, what is the advantage of a component set over buying a 6" Loudspeaker pair + 4" 2 way speakers and having everything in front.

I have heard the 450 and 470 and if it at that level it will suffice for now. Someday you can get a cleaner amp. Actually see if your dealer can get your a Pio 6100 (old) or 6200 for 6K. then hear both (Blau and Pio) and choose.

All right, a little birdy told me a 6100F second hand amp may be available, but will see if its still there when I go for system.
So if I go for the best VFM amp, I just get compo's and AMP+HU and save up for a nice 8K subwoofer and get it fitted later, right?

So in the intermediate period which speaker+amp+HU combo will give me great SQ. I know I wont get sub type BASS but I think good speakers can deliver nice BASS?

a components set has a pre set balance to the sound. By going outside that orbit you are now depending on your ears and skills to produce a balance that you prefer.

If you want to go for a 6" coax (door) and a 4" coax (dash) you can "tune" the sound by tinking with the tweeter caps.

Hmm so its not the components, but adjustments with Bass and treble and equalizer settings. I was thinking of going with 6" Loudspeaker(no tweeter) in door, and a 4" 2 way in the dash.

Umm nope, around 25-27K. If I can push to 25K I can get a 12" sub and a box made for 6K and fit everything within 31K. See 1K my budget went above.
If it goes to 27K I can wait for 6 months for the sub and buy a 14" with box for 8-10K.

Another question, why doesn't anybody talk about tubes? Are they bad?

On the HU front I see the following
DV8305 DV8306 : Both have the same features, but look different
DV7305 DV7306 : bluetooth which I don't need. Does not have multi color display and no 5V line output level in specs(what does it mean?)

So can anyone tell me the approx price of these 4 units. The 8305/8306 have everything I need.
PS: There is a 7206 also but it only plays mp3 via the USB port.

5v volts out is the RCA output level which will be used to connect the hu with amp....you can dump this feature as it will not effect the sq of the whole setup...look for other features like usb gigamp3 dvd....

Gigamp3/USB Port/DiVx is there in all 4 options I have.
Any idea about the approximate costs.
I was checking 5.1 surround but thats there only in the multimedia series which start from 21K. So I guess only if I had 50K budget that would make sense.

You would also need rear speakers for it to make sense, and a center channel of course.

Eggxactly. Thats why looking at the above said models.
Once I know the price of the 4 models, I can balance the remaining moolah I have among rest of the stuff.
If I get a multimedia reciever, I can say TATA to the AMP and subwoofer and just have speakers.

HU: Nobody has replied to the prices. Where did all ICE guys go!?
Compo's : Here I am seriously confused. Can somebody enlighten me.
Is the only difference between components and simple nice loudspeakers 2way or 1way or 3way is that the loudspeakers have to be manually tuned?
Sub: Since my budget is 25K, which is the best VFM sub for < 8K(Including box)

I'll answer you.

The CS2165C costs 5K and it is last years GTO component (GTO606Ce) with an inline crossover. It is good, for the money but the GTO607C (new 7 series GTO) is a better component set, with an external, user-adjustable crossover and it costs Rs.6500/-.

Sam, If I get GTO607C then will my setup
HU+75.4+607C+(6K Sub in box) sound good. As of now rear speakers are not in equation. Are rear speakers needed for good sound, or you can create nice sound with just good components.
