Yes 12,990/- is indeed the new M.R.P.

The GTO series are built to tighter specs.

Grey market goods are NOT always fake goods. Grey market means goods that were meant for another market and were imported into the country illegally. The Warranty for this product will not be valid. So ensure that the Warranty cards is filled in (incl S/N), stamped and sent in.

So many questions baap re!

OK, here are all my answers. GTO75.4 is probably the best VFM amplifier we have, in terms of build quality and power.
It sold pretty well at 14,990/- but recently, the price was lowered, internationally. So the price was brought down to 12,990/- This is now the correct MRP inclusive of VAT etc.

Expectedly, the sales rose with the lowering of the price and it is sold out everywhere. Certain dealers also buy stock and keep, recognising that at times like this, they can command a good price.

It is not uncommon to be able to buy JBL, with a discount. There are over 800 official dealers for JBL car audio in India and everyone wants a piece of the action.

There are no fake GTO75.4, yet.

The CS60.4 replaced the CS50.4 from 2004/05. The Output power transistors were replaced with higher power units and the tolerance level was increased. Tonally it's very good, but we do not recommend it to drive large subwoofers in sealed boxes. It would be used to drive speakers and bridged to drive smaller ported subwoofers. It's ideal for driving components and speakers. I use one myself.
It is a complete CS engineered product, unlike certain CS models that rely on older GTO technology (for example the CS300.1 monoblock is actually a older GTO mono amplifier inside)

The GTO75.4 is an entry level GTO product and is larger and heavier than most available amplifiers. I personally think it's one of the better amplifiers below 15K.

Hi-Tech cars is an official JBL dealer. Say hi to Rajiv for me.

Since we are at the Subject: My Query

Hi,

Thought i'd voice my Queries on the same thread instead of starting a new one.

Following is my existing ICE setup.
  • HU: Pioneer 6950ib
  • Front Components: Hertz ESK 165 (6.5")
  • Sub-Woofer: Pioneer TS W304F (in parcel tray)
  • Rear Speakers: Pioneer TS A2010
  • Amplifier: Sony 444 (drives Components and SW)
Now the problem is that the Bass is very less. No punch at all.
I understand the problem lies in the Sub and therefore am looking to upgrade it. My Total budget is about 6-8K and am looking for a VFM solution - max Bang for the Buck i.e.

Based on Navin ji's inputs, I could identify 2 Solutions

Solution A:
Sell the 444 and extra TS20's that I have and put in the GTO 75.4.
Price: From Delhi JBL Dealer = 12,300 - 2,700 = 9,600/-
Pro's: Good Sound
Con's: My Rear Speakers still don't get a sub, inspite of spending 10k
Query: Considering my setup, (a) I hope the 75.4 is not an overkill? (b) Will a smaller Pioneer Amp. in region of 8k/- suffice? (8-3=5k net cost)

Solution B:
Keep the 444 to drive the Front Components and Rear Speakers and buy a Mono-block for the Sub.
Price: No Clue - need Inputs.
Pro's: Everything taken care of.
Con's: No Clue
Query: (a) Is half the 444 enough for my components which I believe are quite good? (b) Won't the mono-block be an overkill for my Sub?

Please give Inputs.

p.s.
I am coming to Bombay fromk 5th-8th and can buy Sub from there if someone can help me get a better bargain. I am OK with Grey as long as it is original equipment and not fake.

OK clip but this one is for Romyeo. Expect a DHL supersaver box to be reaching Hyderabad soon.

And now back to audio, remember romyeo, we're all waiting to see pictures of your install. You don't get any goodies till we see the install and hear your report.

The 444 will do for now. You can always upgrade that later if you feel. The monoblock will go your sub a world of good. if you get the 75.4 you might have more power than you need going to your front components (not a bad thing but considering your budget...) and your sub would be bit underpowered. the 300.1 will go a better job with the sub but your components will get less power. So unless you feel your components need more power why get the 75.4?
