JBL 75.4 amp and non availabilty

Hello Guys

It seems that 75.4 is selling like a hot cake or is it that the dealers are bent on pushing the other models than the 75.4 , its been more than 10 days that I have asked the SPROCKET guys in HYd to get me the Amp and still he says there are issues with SPROCKET of Bangalore ,says all the excuses in the world and tells me to go for two amps which i dont want to.

or is it that there old trick to sell 2 amps or to go for the one which they already have in stocks..... waiting for 10 days for car to be PIMP'D and this is driving me crazy ...

now i now why PPl go for SONY.

lol romeo, I understand that you're upset, but this is not the reason why people go for Sony.

OK here's my official statement. The GTO75.4 is indeed a very popular amplifier, worldwide. And is currently out of stock, through asia and europe.

India is normally never out of stock of anything, we cannot afford to be without stock of any product, even for a day.

However the next few days will see many countries, including India with no availability of the GTO75.4. Expect it to be available again in the end of June. Sorry for the inconvenience.

you must be kidding me .....It can't happen , already waited for 10 days this song comes into my mind ( lambi Judaai ICE key liye)

I can order through rediff but there's no discount for online shopping , the dealer is giving me good discount.

which is better . 75.4 or
300.1 driving the sub
60.2 i guess driving the comp GTO 607c

how about the battery usage if i have to go for two amps. and also the price diff is of 4 k which is quite high.

I assume you mean the 60.2 or 60.4 driving the compos and a 300.1 mono driving the subwoofer. This is an excellent combination.

Battery usage is marginally higher in the case of 2 amplifiers. And yes there is a price difference.

Personally, if you just have one set of speakers (the compos) and the amplifier, then the 75.4 is perfect. BUT with a 4 channel amp and monoblock, you can control and amplify 4 speakers and the subwoofer. In this case that accounts for the price difference.

It's your call my friend. You can

1) Wait for the 75.4
2) Buy a 300.1 mono with a 2ch or 4 ch amp
3) Buy another powerful 4 channel amplifier from another brand.

I think these are your choices, to be fair.

Oh you also have a 937 in the rear and a 607 in the front. I assume you want to power the fronts only and that is why you are looking for a 4 channel amplifier.
Well, with a monoblock+4 channel amp, you will be able to power all 4 speakers and the sub.

There are many good amplifiers in the below 10K category, unfortunately the GTO75.4 is superlative as an amplifier below 15K.

You could look at Alpine, Blaupunkt and Pioneer. They all make excellent products. Inputs anyone?

SAM correction here :
Existing setup :
JBL CS 2104 front
JBL GTO 937 rear
Pio 5990IB

upgrade plan:
JBL GTO 607
JBL sub 4-12

amp my preference was 75.4 now this is under dilemma ... the dual amp combo ( monobloc and 60.2 ) is a bit more expensive compared to 75.4 diff being close to 3k . so me going for 2 amps is ruled out unless its cheaper which can come at the cost of 75.4 i.e 12k after the disc.

what are the other brands can i go for which are as good as 75.4 and the cost being the same i.e 12k max with b&w.

when I joined team-bhp my budget was 25k whre i didnt had any clue abt the prices and the sound quality, hence i have decided to go for phase by phase ICE so initially for the existing ICE i paid 15k and for the upgrade plan my budget is 25k all together except the damping.

if i total it ... holly molly double my budget however i'm assuming the setup would be mindblowing in terms of quality . i listen to mostly the DISCO and House esp( Ministry of sound,Hed Kandi etc etc) any other suggestions for the upgrade plan within 25k is more than welcome.

Romyeo, I was doing some research for a friend and had to call our facility in North Europe an hour ago.

It seems the GTO75.4 will be at India customs by the 9th of June. Given our distribution system, it should reach Hyderabad by the 13th or 14th of June.

@romyeo, I know it is tough but I'd suggest you wait for the 75.4.

It's less than a month away. And overall you save 3K for waiting, and you get a really good amp in the bargain. As I love saying again and again, all good things come to those who wait. You've built a good system over time. If you're going for the 60.4 and 300.1, ok -- you still get a really good setup. But don't compromise for a lesser 4-ch amp now just to have your setup completed immediately.

My 2 cents

I tend to agree here...the one month wait will be worth it.
