DLS and Hertz speakers

Hey guys!

Whats the word on the DLS 6x9 ovals and the Hertz component set-up? Initial reserach on the net seems to indicate they are great speakers that perform well, for resolution and thump. Anyone with any experience using either?

Cheers!
K

KK,

Both DLS and Hertz are well respected brands. Others are Morel, Focal, and Rainbow. I am sure the Gurus will chip in with more so hold on. This is going to a long and crazy ride.

It's been some time we discussed something like this. Eh?

Are you planning to use both of these in one car? If yes, I would also like to know why you think so?

Both these speakers are famous for their quality. They've been used in many high end installs thru out the world and some great Audiophiles recommend these for the same.

There're people in our forum also who have been using these in their cars and I think they love them as well.

Both are good brands. But why mix them?

We have quite a few Hertz installs here. (Check out my Garage for one I LOVE my install.). low_bass_makker has DLS Iridium 3-ways in his Swift. Check out his garage.

Could you share what you plan for the rest of the setup? We like drooling over installs (even fantasy ones, heh heh) and spending other peoples' money.

Well the reason I am going with these is because my accessories person suggested it and he has been taking care of my car accessories as long as I've owned cars which is all of 10 years now. I'm teaming it up with a basic Pioneer 5950 HU since I really don't want the DVD, etc. I know mixing brands is not a great idea but I trust this man with installs and with giving me a set-up which suits my music tastes.

So yeah,
so far it looks like the DLS960 6x9;
Hertz 165 components; and
Pioneer 5950 HU.

No amp as of now but its on the wish list and maybe in a few months when the bank account permits it.

What say guys? Approved or rejected? Let me have your comments.

Cheers!

KK, stick with either of the brands, don't mix them unless absolutely unavoidable.

I agree with Gunbir Phaji here don't mix and match the different brands...I would add one more thing If only one brand don't mix and match the different series of the same brand also as they will make the sound different also...

Like our Navin Ji says try to listen to both the brands before buy ......

So the final decision has been made. The install is this:

Pioneer 5950 HU
DLS960 6x9 ovals (rear)
DLS K60 components (front)

Sort of broke right now so the amp will have to wait a bit i think. Let's see how this sounds.

Comments??
