Its a feature offered on HU's used to delay the speakers which are closer to the listener and align them with the speakers that are further away.

This results in the sound from all the speakers to hit you at once which obviously translates to a better sound stage etc.

Sounds frivolous to me!! If you examine a) the size of a car and b) the speed of sound, how much of a delay would be there between sounds from different speakers hitting your ears?!?

Actually no, even to someone who's such a noob like me when it comes to ICE, it makes a difference & a significant one. Especially, the whole system appears integrated & it feels as if the sound is coming right from where your ears are! The sub too gets integrated & you can't really point out whether the sub is located in the boot or under your seat.

No Veb, TA in car HUs is not frivolous. It is a most useful tool.

Alpine 9887? Without b&w the Pio P80 (what LBM has) should be around the same. Blau has one model, but is likely to be expensive. There might be some JVC or Clarion model.

This might up setup VEB`s budget...the pioneer 8850 has TA. It is priced at 13-13.5k in grey it has a coloured screen OLE display and lots of other features. Here is a link. But only one down side is that it does not have USB. And it also sounds nicer than 7950. 8850 has the pioneer signature sound.

The main pioneer site is not working...so here is the look of the HU

The above model is 9800BT same as the 8850 except the blue tooth feature.
