ICE for Lancer

Hey guys,
I am thinking of renovating my good ol Lancer completely. As of now its gone for a complete new paint job and some minor repairs. After that i plan to get a spanking new audio setup for my car.

Ok here go the basic requirement and other details -

1] I have a budget of Approx. 60k
2] I am concentrating on Audio purely, i dont want LCD n DVD and all that crap
3] I mostly listen to Hindi Music , Rammstein, Some English Soundtracks etc...
4] As far as Audio setup goes, i am not a pro at all, so i leave it to Pros here to help this poor soul

Any kind of tips, suggestions are most welcome.

Amey

60K Amey! you are going to have every Guru on this forum advising you. A 60K budget is manna from heaven. So before the Gurus chip in I'll offer you some pointers.

a) Spend some money on damping and good wires. 10K will do your car a world of good. 5K on damping, 3K on RCA wires and 2K on power cables.

b) Use stock locations. Does the Lancer have a stock front tweeter pod?

c) Plan before you shop and listen before you buy. Decide how big a subwoofer you want, what type of sound are you expecting, and try to keep everything clean.

d) Approx budgets (50K - you spent 10K on wires and damping remember)
HU: 10K (Pio, Blau, and even one of the lesser Alpines fit this budget)
Amp: 20K (a good monoblock and a small 4 ch. amp for example the JBL 300.1 and 60.4)
Front and rear speakers: 12K (this is where your ears will be most required)
sub: 8K

Nope no tweeter pod location in the lancer. Maybe Sam can tell where he put the tweeter in his car.

Well nice that someone already started a thread for ICE'ing a lancer.
Just picked up a 2nd hand lancer a couple of days back and time to ICE her up.

Well my budget is simple 25k without a sub-woofer. Already have a Pio' sub lying at home.
Have checked the thread What ICE at What price and am still confused.

Only requirement is good music from the setup. No upgrades possible in the near future.
Am a little scared to venture into the ICE section for advise .

Sorry to have hijacked your thread mate, hope you dont mind.

Amey,

Get a good pioneer headunit with 3 rca outputs.
for speakers there are lots of brand which you can get in this budget, so try to listen it first.
Speakers - Jbl, Illusion, Groundzero, Infinity, hertz etc. But for front get components and for rear get co-axials.
Amp - Pioneer,Jbl,Alpine..
get one 4 channel amp to drive front and rear speakers and one monoblock amp for sub.
Sub - Jbl 12" Or 15", Illusion, Hertz in custom made sealed box.
As navinji said get a good rc and power cables and damping.

Mugen,

for 9K he can get the 7950. 8k will get the 6950.
and no way will he get infinity for the same price as JBL. JBL's prices are more in lne with Hertz Energy (not Hi Energy), Blau Thc and the Illusion basic series (forget the name).
the JBL 75.4 costs 12K or there abouts. for 7K the Blau GT4 Sepcial or the 6200 is about all he can get. The Sony 554 is not in the same league (though it is cheaper).
