I can strongly recommend Bosch Silver (a little difficult to find), Amaron (Easiest to find), Leader (hard to find), Magneti Marelli (hard to find)

Avoid Exide and Prestolite.

Among the listed batteries, is the Bosch Silver better option compared to Amaron ?

My vote goes to Amaron, as I have been using it for almost 2 years without any problem, though I do not have any major ice in my car.

I believe so yes. But be warned that the Bosch Silver is made using Bosch technology, but at the Amaron factory.

bosch ,lucas and amaron are all made by amar raja batteries . I believe ,Amaron to be the cheapest of all ,especially the go series and the quality levels are also awesome. service back up is definitely the best for any automotive component that i have seen used in all my life .

bosch silver & amaron made in same factory..

A bosch executive confirmed to me that bosch silver was made by amaron. The executive said that bosch has a patent on Silver alloy technology which offers greater electrical conductivity and better corrosion resistance, substantial increase in service life, and a totally maintenance-free battery experience.

I ve always found Amaron to be first class. Also they have a very good guarantee of 18 months.
You could consider TATA GREEN too - they look very interesting. With the Tata name I am sure they will be of good quality though Ive not tried them.

I wasnt very happy at all with Exide and Panasonic

cheers

The best battery in my experience is AMARON. Easy availability, good warranty.

Also Bosch Silver. They have a campaign going on these days where you could win a car (Accord or Civic)

Give it a shot, you may just get lucky.

Cheers

Battery change due?

Hi People,

Need some advice which is related to this thread,so I thought Id pop in my question.

My 800 has been running on the stock battery since September 2006 (almost 2 years now). I have upgraded my ICE in May 2008 with a 4 channel amp and a 12" SW, along with front components and pre-existing rear coaxials. I am also running 100/90 headlight bulbs.

Now my queston is, since I am running quite a bit of heavy electrical appendages in my car, how long can I expect the battery to last? My car has run about 19k kms. Ice runs for about 1.5 t0 2 hours per day on an average.

Should I be ready for a battery change sometime in the near future? Or is it too early for my battery to start protesting?

Also, is there any specific place Bangalore BHPians source their batteries from?
