So this works in cases where a woofer's HF response is not too bad

Not really, cuz end of the day you get what you pay for. I have heard the coaxials from the same range and I'm sorry to say, they sound below average.

Very true, but how do we rank or rather compare if we were to take three levels of good / average / bad at the same price points looking at the avg expectation of the common man.

Then these are simply speakers with tweeters & surely not a complete component kit. Therefore cannot sound the same as component speakers.

They look like component speakers to me E_L.

Possibly with an in-line crossover for the tweeter.

The price is Rs.3000/- including VAT. An excellent price!! I must hear them, before I pass judgement, but I suspect they won't sound bad at all.

ritayan, rating a speaker as good bad or average is diffucult. Sound is very subjective.

I have not heard the speakes in question so like Sam cant really pass judgement. I have heard both good and bad from Blaupunkt so even using the manufacturer's brand as a reference is not possible.

Thanks Navin, I did hear these speakers on a friends car with a Pio 2950 and no amp and some Blau 6x9 at the back from the same GT range. He was using some Hi bass and Hi Loud setting. Did not like it and remembering the gyan from the forum set everything to 0, HPF to 50 and fader to F 8. Wow not the music is nice, new movie songs or Pop hits from the 80s. Volume till 40 there is no distortion. I think it is a nice VFM setup.

Pio 2950 - Rs 3700 (No B&W)
Blau GTc 172 - Rs 2700 (B&W)
Blau 6x9 - Rs 3000 (B&W)
Plank for instlation Rs 700
Cables Spacers & Instlation Rs 800

Total Cost Rs 10,900/-

Photos uploaded - hope I got it right

Hi all,

Am uploading photos of the ICE as requested.

Since I am posting these for the first time, hope I have got it right. :-)

As far as my choice of music goes, I generally listem to rock - Pink Floyd and Enigma being my favourites.

Thanks & regards,

Kiron

Thanks mobike008.

Yes, I was not very happy with the vendor putting the HU in the upper slot and leaving the original slot vacant. Will have to look for a cover for the blank slot I guess - maybe a clock or something. ;-))

The sound is pretty good, although I must say my knowledge of these things are VERY limited.

Surface mounting?? I have a related question, it is know to be vulnerable to cleaner guys if mounted using double sided tapes. But doest it hold true if they are properly fastened using screws or nut-bolts?
