Kenwood or Blaupunkt

I have Rs. 8250 to spend on music system head unit.Should I go for blaupunkt or Kenwood.I want kenwood because it has pin code security which I really want so that my driver does NOT TOUCH IT/ USE IT. But above all I want quallity.Which is good blaupunkt / kenwood. If I go for blaupunkt I will go for MP26 but I donot know any kenwood models. Please suggest a modle if you prefer kenwood. My car is Indica XETA.

Please post in the correct section (ICE) to get immediate, above the budget replies.
Here we'd tell you to dump both and just get an exhasut system, which will sound god too

The only PIN code security I've seen is an anti-theft device: the unit will not function after power has been removed, eg after taking out of the car, without the PIN being entered.

You mean entering a PIN every time you turn it on? I could never be bothered with that...

Both Blaupunkt and Kenwood are good. So If you like a particualr fearure of Kenwood go ahead and get a Kenwood.

@neel-da, perhaps you driver is being a negative influence on you, so much so that he is indirectly influencing what YOU should be doing, and not the other way around.

The PIN-code stuff is not for you and the driver, it is for the THIEF - he cannot use it the next time the unit is powered on (battery is re-connected after being disconnected when stealing; not car normally switched on) if he does not know the code. But, one may surmise, that is not what you were looking at.

Blaupunkt also has the PIN-code based HU's (even ones that you can remove the SIM card from) and there is hardly much to differentiate them from Kenwood, and vice versa.

Currently there is no feature, other than you removing the removable front plate and taking it along with you to office (na rahega baans, na bajegi bansuri; no controls to use), for you to disable the HU when you are not there.

If one may suggest, perhaps a better way would be to teach the driver to use it responsibly; who knows, he may react rather maturely to that situation.

Having heard both the 9843 > 9846. Same price. The 9843 has fewer features but to me sound comes first.

It is a very sad thing that 9843 is no longer available in the market. I have one in my car and I love it.
