ya it is quite costly for 10.5k but importers tend to get maximum profits...

similar prices of DLS..the international price is quite low but in india they are priced nearly two to three times..

Blau also used to have a line with a transparent cone (TS series I think) so you could put LEDs/Neons in their back.

That is a US price, and they will not deliver to India for that price.

We have talked about this time and again, but here goes the chain,

For example the product is shipped within USA at $68.95 which is roughly Rs 3000.
Then comes approx 40% customs Duty making it 4200, with freight to india it would become about Rs 5000.

Now calculating backwards, At a MRP of 10500 the regular selling dealer expects a margin of 25% which takes the dealer price to Rs 7875.

From Rs 5000 to Rs 7875 is the margin which again includes a 12.5% VAT.

This is just giving an example of straight legal import and sale. I am not even accounting for marketting and promotion for the product etc.

I am sure the price on that website is not the distributor's cost but it's definitely not too much less than that. The above calculation is just to clear your doubts my friend.

It does not brighten or anything, no disco lights here.

Pics of what a complete " speakers me hai lights" setup looks like.

The doorpads were cut to acomodate the speaker, here is how it was done for the 6.5" compos, this speaker has a big magnet too ,

The abovecalculations are made per peice.
The landed costs for an authorised distributor / dealer would be much less than above price by ways of bulk ordering, direct shipping from factory (else where if not in US), and other factors.

Are those lights an integral part of the speakers design or are they add on features?

Gradually! as dough gets stuffed up in your pockets, you can start adding up. And I see some nice planning up too.

I had used Pio 5950 in one of my installs and didn't really like it. But nice to hear that you found it good for you. It all matters to different tastes.
Good thing of this HU is it has enough options for a good future upgrade. And it comes for a good price too.

Where did you get your setup done? I think by Anwar's!
The front components have been installed well. And I am sure it didn't involve too much of cutting shutting. It looks amazing too! Great job!

I think you should add a good sub first instead of getting Rear co-axials. Discuss it with BlueRaven. He will guide you better.
Well yes, hope to build up a complete setup slowly. The installation was not done by Anwar. This was done by one of blueraven's specialist contacts.. the guy is very skilled, but does need the supervision.

No manikjeet, i did not change any lights. What you see is what came with the car. The blue and orange surprisingly gels well in the dark...

BTW, those speakers has neons? looks cool. How much do they cost?
Did you had to cut through the door pockets?

Little off topic, but, are those power window buttons? Which model is ur Alto? I dont think its the x-fun 'cause the gear knob is regular one. Then how do u have those bright cool looking display? Details please.....
Hi Dhar,
No the speakers are not neons, the have LEDs. My alto is a 2007 LXi. I put in the 2 door power windows as an extra. It was well worth it. Especially with the recent showers in blore.

Really nice install . Before seeing this, I'd have had serious doubts about whether a deep basket 6.5" comp would have gone into an Alto door. Now I know it can be done neatly and made to sound good too.

For your setup, I'd get an amp and damping for the front doors next. A sub next, and then coaxials for the rear.

I'm going to look forward to seeing you build this system
Thank you hydrashok for the compliments.. Yes damping is first on my list followed by the amps and the rest as you mentioned. I am going out of india probably in 2 months time. Hope to score a good priced quality amp during my trip.

they come with the speakers. But it does have a separate on/off switch.

thanks technocrat...
the silver square thing is the crossover circuit. its a plastic box with silver paint giving a chrome look... It looked real nice and we didnt want to hide it, so decided to put it there so anyone looking into the car when door open always spots it and a great conversation starter hehe...

the power windows are from autocop. MGA had its own cheaper version, but the sales rep claimed that by putting the autocop one i can sync with my autocop security systems so that when i lock, the windows roll up on their own. The MRP was 6000 something.. dont remember. Since i went in for the accessories together, i got a discount on the total. And the auto close windows feature is so so handy!!!
