These two are totally different animals. If you want bling in your sound go for Pioneer. JVC is more of a vocally enabled unit than pioneer. This is what i feel as i have both JVC AVX44 and Pioneer P80RS which i have hooked on to same setup. JVC AVX44 and AVX33 are available in range of $300-$400. I got it around a year back for Rs 18500

Does the JVC have a more relaxed sound (focus on vocals) ??

And the Pioneer being brighter (High on treble) ??
