IS a Sub really necessary?

My setup on Nwe Honda City-Non ZX EXI model.

Head unit Sony MEX 2000
Front speakers.Sony HT170 NT-component,peak 240W ,rated 60W.
Rear Sony xs6948- PEak -420W ,Rated-100W
Amplifier Blaupunkt GTA4 800W driving all speakers... Decent wiring..

Great effect..no vibration upto vol 30. beyond that i am scared i will screw my speakers and frankly dont think necessary !

wanted to chk if i shud go for a SUB.??.my Audio guy says for a great thump/BASS a decent sub will complete the setup.
but i guess a 2nd amp wud be necessary or else i may have to drive my rear speakers thru my HU.?? will that dampen the performance of the Rear?

what do u guys say??? any recommendations?

If you need a decent bass you will require a SUB which should be powered by a mono amp or you could also use a 2 ch AMP.
If you power your rear speakers using the head unit it will affect the performance.
They will not sound as bright and clear as with a AMP.
So it is recommended that you buy another AMP for powering the SUB.

It depends on what you are willing to spend. A basic sub (Pio) will cost you 3-4K and you can drive it using 2 channels of the Blau amp etc...

BTW I would uupgrade those Sony speakers as well.
