My question is pretty straight forward. The cable connectors to Amplifier are broken and my question is, do I need to get the whole cabling replaced or is there anyway around to do something to make the broken connectors work?

If you have a factory-sealed connector cable get a new one. If however it is just a connection at one end of teh RCA then you can have it re-soldered.

Hello,

I have a doubt regarding my Blaupunkt's Bahamas MP46 CD/MP3 player which came company fitted in my Cedia.

When we got the car, the dealer fitted a AUX cable which i was happily using unitl it broke a few days ago. I got thinking, that is it possible to have a USB / Ipod connector cable fitted in this panel? I saw a USB cable fitted in my uncles Blaupunkt system ( different model). He uses the normal ipod cable to connect his ipod through that and that also charges his ipod.

Is it possible in mine? Is there is a ipod connector cable available in market?

Thanks.

There is a cable (Blaupunkt iPod® Connector Cable) - you need to either check with the distri/dealer, or get it online. This cable charges the iPod, and plays from the EP socket. Mind you, the Bahamas MP46 cannot control the iPod/iPhone - you need to control directly.

Meanwhile, you could take the AUX cable to your friendly neighborhood electronics repair-wala and get it repaired (hopefully it is not broken at the HU end blue connector ). It is just a stereo jack and 2-core shielded cable, which are available easily locally.

hey,

Thanks for the prompt reply. Basically the aux cable is into 2 pcs. So no scope of repair. Need to replace it only. its really ok if i cannot control the ipod. As long as its charging and playing its ok for me. i have asked my regular car accesory shop guy to get one for me and he has quoted me 750 for that cable. Hope its worth it.

Shall update more once its fitted and working.

Thanks.

I went to my regular car accessory shop to get that cable fitted. But eventually came back with a panel upgrade. I sold my Blaupunkt that came with the car to him for 2k and bought a Pioneer DEH-2290UB from him instead. The MRP on the Box was 7990/-. but he offered the system to me at 6500 - 2000 = 4000/-. Which i think is a good deal i got. It is with 2 years warranty.

This panel support USB + AUX + Ipod + Iphone.

I tested it there and then decided to go for it.

Hi All,

My friend (located in b'lore) has recently purchased a Ford Figo EXI

The only issue was that there is no Bluetooth support in the stereo. Now, I am planning to buy one which
- will not be shown in the dashboard (max only a display unit)
- no cutting of wires
- Should be directly powered by car battery and not occupy my 12V port - i am fine with if it charges through it and i can disconnect it as and when required
- should not occupy my AUX In port

I have seen Parrot Mki9200 and 9100, but they are not available in India. I am planning to get them shipped to India, but again need to know if it will integrate with my system easily.

Can anyone share any good Bluetooth systems in India which can solve the same purpose?

Try the Nokia car kit, though it comes with its own speaker and does not need to be connected to the HU.

Fundamental Question:

Till date I used to crib about my Aux cable needing to be fitted from the back (My system is 6 years old ).

But in the recent past I had a problem in the second car. The in built system of I10 Sportz has an AUX in the front like all the systems. My kid pushed the cable and the the pin broke (while the cable was attached to the aux port), leaving half of the broken pin inside the aux socket and the other half on the cable.

I was able to use a vacum cleaner and suck the pin from the inside, but AUX port does not work. Need to get it corrected.

This made me think that a concealed aux port (though easy to access, like the ones in ANHC) should be much better as it does not project out.

Have any one faced such problems?

Any objec protuding out be is a 3.5mm pin or a USB thub drive is liable to get damaged by an accidental hit. This is why they are best kept out of harm's way.
