You'd may have to play "LBM loud" to notice this.

" LBM Loud " !! :uncontrol

I dont go close to that, and just wanted more clarity than the stock setup. I was thinking of a 5-channel so that I have lesser wires & cables around the place.

Yes, if that crazy man was around, I would have headed to him straight seeking his magic to pull out something, even if B-stock.

That's my goal too. Just to have a bit more definition in the bass and a bit more SPL than a stock HU can provide. My guess is that you will have to settle for a monoblock+4 ch. combo or run the rear from the HU and use a 4ch. to drive the sub (2 channels bridged) and fronts.

One ICE dealer here says RF R600x5 available for 38k.

Wonder what would the CMiOP say about the Club 4505 ..

I was using a 5 ch amp from powerbass (700.5) which i sold to a friend. DD audio also has two 5 ch amps in their line up.

Confused - 5-channel amp or a 2-channe like this one.

47$ . Small enough to mount on the side of the sub-woofer box if I wanted to.

Pretty decent ratings, and has the required specs to drive the INfinity ref 1200S.

The other point is that most of the 5-Channel amps are big, or expensive. The space under the front seat is exactly 18". Some of the 5-Channel amps are even 18 / 19". The wiring will stick out on both sides. If the amp is too big, then it will need re-wiring from under-front-seat to rear section of the Storm. Lot of personal effort of a friend and me has gone in to get the wiring that is there now.

Hi All,

I need advise on how to convert my existing stereo to a biuetooth enabled one. The purpose of this is to have my phone connected to my audio system so that I can play music and can take calls. Pls suggest as I can achieve this.

Regards,
Gopi

Questions to the Guru's:

1) How much does SNR matter ? How much does it matter @ normal listening volumes ? Seeing Amps with ratings raning from 70dB all the way to 110 dB.

2) in case the HU has only 2 sets of pre-outs, and if we use a splitter to supply the 2nd channel + sub-woofer, what's the effect on the SQ from the amp ?

1. Not much, a car itself has around 60db of background noise, so should be OK.
Having said that, 70db is an awful snr for any modern amp. You should get at least somewhere in the high 80's
2. Usually no, unless the amp has very low input impedance which is again a sign of a crappy amp. The impact is that you will not be able tov control them independently. You won't be able to apply hpf/lpf use the fader etc

Gopi, pls do a search for Bluetooth ( search in titles only) - there are many threads on this topic.

Gurus, I have installed a set of Focal components in the front and Focal speakers in the rear of my Fortuner.
(Focal Auditor + series RSE-165 PSI and RCX-165 PSI both 375 W max power)
The HU is stock.
The Sound quality has improved but it's still not that good.
Which amp (channel/brand) do you suggest that can improve the audio experience?
Budget 10-12 k

Quite a few good amps out there. The most common are Pioneer, Kenwood, JBL and even Focal's Solid (if you can still find one).

I would like to know specifically what you don't like from the current set up. Does it sound too bright? Focal speakers I've heard have this inherent problem. Couple of things you could consider:
1. Playing with the eq on headunit to get that sweet spot YOU like.
2. Time alignment if your headunit has this feature.
3. An Amp with laid back/neutral sound signature.

Hi Folks,

I own the Old Fortuner 4x4 Auto (Oct 2015 model) and am looking to upgrade the Head Unit of my In-Dash Music System. I need advise if such a replacement is possible which will give me the following features,

1. Incorporate a larger touch screen

2. Support Apple CarPlay

3. Compatible with MapmyIndia SD card based navigation system

4. Compatible with existing steering controls

5. Essentially should be a plug n play replacement that utilises existing connectors and does not need splicing or cutting of any wires.

Any suggestions on the above indicating the Make n Model of such head units will be most welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Hi!

I have a pair of JBL components installed in my Swift. Sorry, I do not recall the specific model name. Also, I have a small sub (Blaupunkt GTb 8200 A) installed, which takes care of the low frequencies. I feel that the frequency response of JBL is more of a V-shape. I mean, the lows and highs are loud, but the middle frequencies (especially vocals) are bit less.

I am looking for a pair of components with more flat frequency response and sounding more natural.

My budget is Rs. 10k.

I tried to get auditions, but the shops in Trivandrum are, let's say, not very eager to give auditions.

Can you please suggest some options?

Thanks in advance :-)

PS: No damping done.
