Boston Pro speakers

Anyone here installed the Boston Pro range of speakers? If so, what's the verdict?

Not from the support staff: Please post in relevant sections only.

We have used Boston Pro60's in Honda Accord Old Model (F+R) in the past. Verdict is, for that much money you can buy much better speakers which will blow bostons out of the water.

Jas,
What speakers would these better ones be? And what amp would you pair these with?

Are the current Pro 60s the same as those launched 3 years back?

Yes they are. While the build quality is good and the product sounds good, it feels way overpriced. You can consider the Focal Polyglass set, the Infinity Kappa set or the HERTZ Hi-Energy HSK165 set. All of these are priced around 15K and will give the Pro 60s a run for their money.

Thanks Gunbir.
My Installer has just received a shipment of Focal Polyglass comps, dunno if he has matching coaxials. Will certainly give them a hear. How would you rate the Polk Momos compared to the Focal Polyglass? what amp would you match them with?
Thanks in advance

you can add Illusion`s Carbon and Luccent series to the list here. They are more smooth sounding and sweeter when compared to the Focal. the price range is 11k for the luccent and 25k for the Carbon.

For amplification you can go for STEG, they make some very nice amplifiers. The Qmos Series is there starting range.

Wouldnt Steg be too expensive for a 15K speaker set?..

Hmmm.....the 75 watts x 2 amp would be for 25k. Which I think is quite ok if the person wants good SQ in his setup.

Also when it comes to Audio there is no limit if you want the best...like the superb install the speaker is for 25k but the ampification is for 180k . Now you would say this car need better speakers.
