Will installing subwoofer & amp void manufacturer warranty?

Hi fellow BHPians!

I would appreciate if someone could tell me that installing sub woofer & amp will void manufacturer warranty or not? I have an Esteem, 2007 model, and being a music lover naturally ain't happy with the OEM car audio system. Have already got the rear speaker pair changed to Alpine and am planning to get a sub woofer system installed. Hence need a clarification on this issue before going ahead.

Furthermore, I need the advice of car audio gurus on couple of other issues, which are:
1. How does a bass tube placed in the trunk perform?
2. Which is better, an amplified sub or a passive one with external amplifier.

I am not looking for too much bass, but yeah a quality one as I listen to a whole range of genres, from old hindi to heavy metal to electronic.

Thanks in advance!

Hello King of a civilized world in Middle-Earth!!

No it will not void your warranty.

It is better to go for a separate amplifier and subwoofer (tube or whatever)

Hey low_bass_makker, I would put my budget around 8K. Could you suggest me a decent combo of sub and amp that meets it?

you can go for a Sony/Kenwood/jvc 4channel budget amp which will cost you within 4.5k grey and a pioneer/kenwood/sony subwoofer around 2700 - 3200 grey, will be set in your budget bro.

Hmm in 8k budget it will be hard to complete the combo. If you think of getting a sub + fake alpine amp then it is possible but the results will not be so good...

So for a good combo get a solid mono or a good 4 channel amp for the same...

a good 4 channel amp like pioneer 6500 is for 6k, JBL 60.4 is also for 6k range.(both in grey)..but the One I prefer is the JBL 75.4 (9K)or the Pioneer 944 (if you can get one) for the excellent job.

Subs I would prefer the JBL 4-12 or Illusion EL 12 both are good subs...and very good sounding ones also...the Jbl is for 4.5k and the Illusion is for 5.5k the JBL is 250 watts rms and the Illusion is 600 watts rms...

Sorry to break your budget but the ICE section is famous for this...

Tell me about it man! Whatever you spend for an ICE setup is never enough. I guess I'll defer my installation till I can afford to increase my budget by 5-6K.
