Zakkos post was very detailed so will not add much to it just wanna say that there are lots of brands out there take a demo of different brands and then decide.
All the best.

O.K guys,
thanks alot for all the help, I have finalized half of the equipment:
1) Alpine IVA-W202R Head Unit
2) Alpine PXE-H650 Processor
3) Alpine PDX-1.1000 Subwoofer Amp
4) Alpine PDX-4.150 Speakers Amp
5) Monster Cable 300 Series Amp Power Kit (1000 Watts) x 2
6) Monster Cable 300 Series Interconnects

Now I have to decide the speakers and the sub..... which is the main ingredient of my install.

Has anyone used the Alpine X Series Subs and Components?

Also what about the Focal JMLabs Components?

Do I need a Capacitor? If I do how much suffice for this install?

Thanking you,
Mumbaiya

You have chosen some good stuff for your car, but considering you have a 1.5 lakhs budget and that too you don't want a DVD player, then I think you should take a look at JL Audio too, cos if you don't you will be really missing something. They make some really awesome amps (Slash Series) and the VR Series Component Speakers are some of the best speakers I have heard till date below the 30k Mark per set. I have heard Alpine , Hertz High Energy series, Focal Polyglass series , but nothing has matched those component Speakers yet. Then again a lot has to do with tuning too, the JL Setup I heard was complete JL and very very well tuned.
Also I would suggest you take a look at Image Dynamics, cos I have hard some good stuff about them, however have not heard a setup in person.
All the best!

You can buy much better speakers for the price of Alpine X types, Focals partnered with Alpine front end and PDX amps will be on a brighter side.

As far as JL Audio is concerned, though overpriced in India their amplifiers and subwoofers are good but speakers are not that great. Again better stuff available at lesser price.

I know my install has gone way beyond budget but I guess I will be able to stretch it. Tomorrow I am going to Opera House to find out the prices and the availability of all the products mentioned above.

Hmm..First thing I wanna ask here is that you are going for the PXE-H650 processor,

Car Audio Direct - The UK's leading car audio and stereo resource.

Alpine PXE-H650 IMPRINT sound processor Get top performance from a full audio system while retaining your factory stereo at Crutchfield.com

are you planning to go active or something extra, as you will need such equipment, The proccessor you have selected is for getting top performance from a factory stereo. It is a stand alone device which can be used on any HU.

If you plan to add a processor go for this one..
Alpine PXA-H701 Multichannel audio processor at Crutchfield.com

but this will damage your budget very much...so plan well before deciding...

About the Alpine amps and x-type speakers there are better products in the market from which you can choose from so dont be in a hurry, choose wise and audition as many products you can.

1. If you have proper power cables you do NOT need a cap.
2. By finalised do you mean you have purchased the same?
3. Focal and Alpine is not a good combination. If I was stuck on Focal I'd use Audison to drive it.
4. like Autophile said a few posts ago if you intend to emulate the stealth install you will have to consider 8" subs. 10" just wont fit.

Why dont you start auditioning some equipment and then you will have a better idea what you like.

I already own the PXA-H701 with the C701 Display Unit. Trust me its BAD. It takes a lot of time in setting up and after I do, I cannot change via simple Treble & Bass Control. I have to change the entire 31 Band EQ Curve. And then by the time I have changed it, the song is over. I removed it from my car and its just lying at my house now.

Regarding the H650, its much easier cause I got all the controls I want i.e. Treble, MID (which is main for me) & Bass. So its much easier to change tone from song to song.

1) I have not yet purchased the items.

2) Im not stuck on buying the Focals, I just wanted to know how they are. They do not have a Demo Set up with the dealers.

for speakers you could look at :
  1. Rainbows
  2. Morels
  3. Dynaudio..
  4. Hertz High Energy
  5. Focals ( I would only go for the High end models)
Budget I suspect will not come into play... as you are inttoooo deep already
...
One other point I would like to point out..since you are obviusly going to have a very high end set up..why use bad software as in Mp3 with such good hardware...

You mean to say you tinker with 31 bands on tone control for every song!

The Focals I heard (Utopia) were sweet and terrible detailed. If you music, amp and HU are short of perfect the flaws are al out there. For less detail the poly glass series is better.

SK just suggested Rainbow. I think that it might be your best option. Use Steg to drive Rainbows. Only thing is I dont know anyplace you can listen to Rainbows (in India).

BTW check this out! It is OT though.
