Pioneer DEH-P6850 Trouble

Hi! I have installed Pioneer DEH-P6850 headunit in my Palio S10 around a year back. It looked awesome with its blue display and motorised panel and was working fine.
But last night it started working abnormally. Even when i touched it, it switched off by itself and restarted by itself and that happened a number of times. The HU worked perfectly if you use the remote control. If i have to change from tuner to compact disc, then the HU goes blank (No lights on the display) and suddenly after 5 seconds it restarts again.
What according to you should be the problem? Should i get the HU cleaned with an electronic cleaner? Kindly help me....

"reset" it and you'll be fine.

Just remove tha detachable pannel, check if the connectors at the back of pannel and in the front of the unit and then fit the pannel back. This happens mainly due to detachable pannel not fitted properly.
Hope this solves your problem .

saurabh has a point, check contacts as well as see if the points are clean, also if any one of the contacts are broken or bent
