Rockford fosgate - how good are they!!

I am planning to fit Rockford Fosgate in Palio 1,2 Nv.

Please suggest is it worth spending money on this brand or there are better options available?

I have shortlisted the following:

[SIZE=2]T1682S RF Component which is a 100 watt RMS Speaker.
P4004 (4channel Amplifier) to power component Spaker and built in enclosure with loaded subwoofer (Model No PL1 112) to get a better effect.

The MRP of the product are as follows -

P1682S Component Speaker Rs. 25550/-

P4004 4 Channel Amplifier Rs. 20700/-

PL1 112 Enclosure Subwoofer Rs. 12400/-

Plus Transportation charges

RF is a well respected brand, however you need to be careful as there are fakes thats all over the market (as blueraven told in someother thread).
dont go in for online shopping! listen and buy.

The Rockford Fosgate systems are pretty good. The 2008 Mitsubishi Lancers (here in the US) come with RF ICE systems. They sound really good.
Of course, getting a genuine system is important. I'd recommend RF systems, for sure.

Imo

Kapil - I am not sure about RF speakers because I have never personally heard them. But I am extremely impressed with RF amps and Subwoofers. They are just awesome. I have installed two RF P450.2 (one powering my comps and the other powering my rear coax). I have one RF P300.1 powering RF P212D2 (12" sub). All these products are 2006 models. I coulnd't source 2007 models in bangalore. Whoever has heard the set-up, had a jaw dropping experience. I may be wrong or may be awestruck because I have spent so much money but then I love the set up anyways. The models you have listed are very old models. If you are looking for RF 4 channel amp, you should go for P450.4 (60wX4). It is pretty much in stock and I have seen many installations in Bangalore.

Please PM me if you would like me to check prices for you. AFAIK Digimax is the official distributor of RF products in India.

I don't know if Mitsubishi has a tie up with RF. The Montero in India (because AFAIK it is imported as CBU here) also comes with an awesome RF set-up. Check this link out - Mitsubishi Montero India

RF amps are good souding amps, (though not as good as they used to be) the speaker line does sound good, no irritating highs, decent mids, butttttt............. you canget better prices, what you qouted are MRP rates and always buy from a reputed dealer.

Hi all,

I personally feel that one can get better products at the prices at which Rockford Fosgate are sold at. No doubt they are good products but one can look at Illusion Carbon Components at 5k more and Ground Zero Amplifiers and Subwoofers at almost the same price.

Ok, so I got RF Prime R1693 installed in my Alto yesterday. The dealer gave 1 year warranty and they cost 3400/-. They seem original cos they have the importer name and price in INR.

The RFs dont seem to be outlandishly better than my previous sonys. They are currently powered by a KAC-845 dishing out 70 rms to them.
Just got them yesterday so will put them to test better soon.

I have put in RF P1692 6x9s in my Protege's rear deck. Its a sea change from the stock speakers, but the stock ones were 11 year old pioneers.

Re: Rockford fosgate - how good are they!!

I have installed the R1652-S 6.50" 2-Way Component System in the front doors and R152 5.25" Prime Full-Range Speaker in the rear doors in my Punto MJD E. The doors developed rattling and I am planning to upgrade the HU and also add Sub and Amp. What would be the best setup keeping my current setup in mind? Also, do I need to get the dampening done?
