Hi All,

Though I am not actually buying it right away (probably would buy it in 2008 first quarter). I would like to know about your preferences about a sub 20K setup. I am not really an audiophile nor do I spend great time in car. But whatever time I spend I would like to spend it in great SQ. Plus my fiance likes listening to music a bit (ok lot more) than I like. I generally listen to Hindi music, generally old Hindi music, some English country music. I generally listen to music at a slow volume. Probably 1/4th of the top volume. So I am looking for a ICE that would meet my requirements. Please do send in your recommendations and please answer a few doubts of mine.

1. As I generally don't listen to loud and bass heavy music, so does it warrant a sub and an amplifier.

2. Would just a HU and components do justice to the ICE i.e. no amp and sub.

3. Would installing 4 comps be a wise decision. If not, what exactly should the setup be?

4. Most importantly, what would be the best combination? I have heard to JBL public address speakers they were nice. Apart from it I have heard Pioneer, Sony and Kenwood. I would rate JBL as the best, but those were PA speakers.

5. Would a Clarion fit into the budget with 4 speakers. All with B & W.

6. How much (money) and how long (time) would the installation take for a Head unit and 4 speakers if done by a professional installer like Driven in Delhi?

PS: As I have a bit of time please also suggest some HU's that may be launched in the near future.

Thanks for stopping by and would post more if I need to know more.

1. Your best option is a HU, a pair of components and a pair of 6x9 in the rear.
2. Clarion HUs are not well distributed. If SQ is what you are after (instead of features) think Alpine.
3. For simple system with just 4 speakers and no amp it wont take more than a hour or 2.

go for pioneer 6950 HU, Hertz comps in front, no need rear fill, u will enjoy rich music anupam

Thanks Navin and Vino.

What comps and coaxs would you suggest? Budget is around 8K for a comp and coax pair.
