Confusing specs abt DD subs Hi,
I was just going through the site of Digital Designs..and i came across their subwoofer ranges...Hardcore SPL brand it is , but the specs a little confusing.
This is about the 3500 series woofers..
It says that
RMS: 1200
Nominal Impedence : D .35 - 4.0 ohms
DC Resistance : D .36 - 3.6 ohms
Now i guess, i terms of amp rating we are generally concerened with the Nomibal Impdenece. Now this is the first time i saw that a subwoofer giving a range of impedences...Usually we see amps rated at 1,2 or 4ohms.
May be not new to you guys, but new to me that i am seeing subs offering range of impdences.
So comming to the point and correct me if i am wrong...the above impedence means the following points
1) Single DD 3515e sub (1200 rms) can be played with a single amp at 1200 x1 @ 1 ohms OR 1200 x1 @ 2 ohms OR 1200 x1 @ 4 ohms DDAudio Digital Designs Speakers Made in the USA
