It is a good sub and very good box. Good Finish and good sound. It is quite accurate and a yes, bit louder than the sealed box. As all Bass Reflex Boxes are.

And for those who are wondering, he is talking of this sub box. Not the usual CS1204B.

Cheers

I've listened to one of those in Mansidea's Scorpio. It was being fed by a 75.4.

Very good sub. Sounded really good. Exceptional build & finish.

He he.. from your reply it looks like I asked a pretty stupid question!!

Must do some research on the technicalities of subs... where's the search button?

i had the same above sub for my car...
i blew it in 1 month and gave it back to john sprocket where i bought it from . It's not the sub's fault i pushed the limits thats why. but the sub has very good output. but later exchanged it for a monster sub JBL gto 1204bp-d, thats right the one with 2 subs in one JBl box.. this made my a boom box.. very thing in my car is falling apart uncontrol

hey..i hope this sub is loud enough for a civic. i am buying this over basstubes or sealed enclosures as i have heard that this is more accurate and louder. how much did you pay for it.

The GTO1200B was an earlier bass reflex box(from 2004) using the GT4-12 woofer. A pretty good product.
The GTO1204BR uses the GTO1264 subwoofer and is a better designed box.

The GT4-12 was one of JBL's most successful single voice coil subwoofers.
Here is how it looked.

You may notice I am referring to it in the past tense, as it has now been discontinued. The GT4 series will no longer be sold as an individual woofer driver.
It will however still be produced and used in the CS series sealed box and Tube.

The GT4-12 will now be replaced with the GT5-12, first in the brand new series of GT5 products.
Here is the woofer.

The GTO1264 was a limited edition single coil woofer and is no longer available. However the GTO1204BR uses the GTO1204 woofer which is quite similar.

I hope I haven't confused you further lol
