ice for my santro

well
hi guys

after nearly spending 3 months with a retarded sony cassette player and 2 crappy local front speakers which were also out of phase i finally upgradede to something awesome....

u c i am a major music guy......msic tht i listen to most of the time includes heavy metal like opeth,slayer,pantera,metallica.......and some times also cold play,ac/dc sabbathand all.....listen to some trance also !

he he all this with tht crappy set up was really irritatin me soooo once some transcactions fell inplace i contacted Mr satya aka blueraven and he hooked me up with some awesome mindblowing ice

like i have sat in cars with some serious stuff . i never liked the way they were tuned.

any wayz i firstly picked up a mp3 player. initially wanted a 5950 but at time of installment went in for 6950....awesome player me loves it !

then rear i put a pair of 6*9 z......didnt know initially which ones to go in for...tested jbl and then satya showed me hifonics zxi series 6*9.....they were awesoome ! the bass responce from them were tight and i didnt feel the need to get any thing else done

soo installed the 6*9 on a mdf tray and was happy for the last 3 weeks

then i had a problem ! didnt have any front speakers soooo could hear the awesome drum rolls ! soooo wat to do ?

well i met satya again with my problem and he gave me many options ! i was lookin out for a set of components soo satya showed me his car in which he had 2 setz of hifonics components

fron zxi series components and rear atlas series components

the atlas series was really nice with its illuminated cone and stuff ! soooo
i asked him if he could play them for me ! he disconnected dis 6*9z and with his subz off played me some music

from the start the rears were overpowering the fronts ! i could bearly hear the front component . then the ease at which the rears handled the power and tht insane volume made me fall in love with them

so i picked up a pair of atlas series 6 and a haff " components for the front

then amp ! which amp to go for.....satya suggested efx and some other brands but i was in love with his hifonics jeus amp sooo he he i picked it up
and all these went into the car yesterday morning along with some good rca cables and the main 4 guage stinger cable !

pics of the install !

http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...09-07_1515.jpg
glows really bright in the dark even though the mess is present !

atlas tweeters on pillar....looks like a satellite speaker !

Stinger 4 Gauge Power wire, Earthquake ANL fuse holder, efx RC wires.
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x...09-07_1518.jpg

soo finally after installin and tunin the ice the sound stage was mind blowing ! the amp highs were tuned to minimum....cross over to -3 db and the eq on the head unit to zero !

started with some trance......the volume could be pumped up to like 50 tht like max and still these speakers didnt crack !

the rears are tuned to extract some bass from them....the fronts are at 80 hz i guess !

have meen listenin a lot since the install an am really happy with the way the system sounds ! crisp and clear...

so right now i am really happy but in the near future will be adding a sub into this system and complete the setup !

I thought the amp has tone controls or equalizer or something.

It means amp gets high(just like druged or drunk)even when the tune is minimum.(the amp's capacity is very low).

Speed my man, I can see you are excited and happy. I think I will wait for blueraven's post to understand what happened lol.

Perhaps you mean that the comps were set to minimum "brightness" levels using the XO?

Yeah, that part sure meant that the tweeter is set to -3dB from the Xover. It was the amp thing I didnt understand, and from Satyas clarification it seems like there wasnt anything there.

Good job Satya, and speedfreak - its nice to see you so thrilled. Its amazing how much joy a good stereo brings to some people... good people.. only good people like ice and dont waste their money on skirts or things that wear them.

I think Karthik got a little lost for words there.
He probably just meant it sounds clear, cos I still cant figure out what did I tell him which he translated into " the amp highs were tuned to minimum ".
It's nice to see you are so thrilled Karthik, congrats and enjoy your setup.
