Finally after 2 months of putting in the basic system today my swift got an upgrade on the ICE front

what was in earlier
HU- Dual Din JVC - KW XG706
speakers
rear - JVC - CS V6945 (4 way 6x9 ovals)
front - JVC - CS V625 (2way speakers)

the upgrade
the front speakers shifted to the doors behind

the front doors got a new pair of
JBL GTO - 607c (components)

an amp - JBL - GTO - 75.4

and sub - JBL - GT4-12

man i just did not feel like getting out of my car

true to its tradition the tbhp ICE help has taken me beyond my budget
2 months back when i started i had a budget of 20 K
in all i have almost spent double now with this upgrade for the awesome SQ

Someone should come and see the permanent smile on my face :)

will need some tuning help from you gurus here though!

Congrats, buddy! Enjoyyyyyyy! :)

What a lovely title for a thread! Well done ibcool! Well done and enjoy your music!

Congrats, good choice of amp, the speaker is a 2 Ohm speaker, hence will to get the max output @ 2 Ohms out of the amp, hence the gains have to be set slightly lower than what other 4 Ohm speakers need to be set at with the same amp to get good clarity.
In lay man terms, keep the gains at around 25 to 30% and you will get good SQ.
Cheers.

Cool Choice.

I am also planning the same in my swift. Only constraint for me is to use the speakers in the doors. I was wondering which will be a good choice. Any guidance in this direction will help.

I am not a heavy listener. Light music will do for me. Simple concept is what I have in my mind. Would appreciate if someone can guide me on this

Thanks

Most swift owners have done exactly that. What kind of budget do you have in mind? Good coax speakers can cost as little as 3.5K per pair.

Navin

Thanks for your reply. I can understand that many Swift owners might have done.

Max budget for me should be 12K . Being a mech guy, I have NO knowledge about electronics, esp ICE. Hence require all your guidance in it

whats the meanest sub setup possible with minimal space usage? as in any crazy designs which can be sneaked under the front seat or something?

Awesome Upgrade!!! Congrats and enjoy your new setup.

please post some pics!!!

Good that you are enjoying your setup & asking us to share the joy. I love the title. Congrats ibcool.

12K for 4 speakers is a godo budget. JBL GTO, Illusion Electra, Hertz Dieci, Blau Thx, are all in that price range.

There are a few subs (I have seen an active Blau sub with a 8" woofer) that can fit under a car seat. But these subs wont give ou the deepest bass. they do make sense if all you have in the front are are 4" speakers.

Man, your post had ME smiling throughout; so glad you're enjoying you're music.
I'm sure any ICE guru will be more than happy to fine tune your setup. From personal experience, I've found everyone to be extremely helpful.
Congrats and ENJOY!!!

yes yes everyone has been extremely helpful from point1

thanx sam and EL on the thread title ... i really mean it, if we ever have a meetup in bbay and you guys around do come to share the joy :)

pics pics pics
havent got time
will post it over th weekend

though its not very impressive to look at as the wires were not very concealed, well a bargain for saving money on installation

small problem though
which i noticed after taking the car away

the guy setup the amp bridging the rear to output to the sub
which i think is ok

but he connected the front comps and the rear ovals to the font port together
i see something wrong in doing this

gurus guide me
will post pics up to show the connection points
also the first time i have got an amp so i tried tuning it to my taste
but havent yet figured the right settings

i like tight bass with a little resonation sometimes, i could either set it to a lot of boom or very tight bass
need o figure something in between

damn a long post

lemme know if i sound too crazy here will try and clarify things
