ICE for Dicor

hi audio gurus,

i am a complete novice when it comes to ICE. for me , music in the car is either on-loud-off. (but, i am a music lover though!- sonds contradictory, doesn't it!) .

I need to ICE up my new Dicor and need suggestions.

My budget is about 25K. First question: Can I rig up a DVD player and screen in this budget so that my little one remains ocupied on long journeys?

there seems to be a provision for tweeters on the A pillar of the car- is it worth having tweeters installed?

I generally dont like to listen to loud music and ususally play the following genres in my car:

classic rock
sufi(not the new remix crap but artistes like Wadali brothers, Nusrat (Live), Sabri Brothers et al)
Punjabi pop(?) occassionally
Ghazals-when my wife is driving.

places in Hyd to get the installation done?
advise please

DVD HU should cost 8k or so for a branded one. Then you need 2 screens which would cost 4k each. Then we need speakers.

I would suggest that you get a DVD HU now and add screens later.

Do you have an Indigo or a Safari? Both have DICOR engines, but are outfitted differently in the cabin!

Himanshu
You can go to shops like Moto Axis on Ministers road, Begum pet and Pit Stop in Raj Bhavan road. I felt the prices at MotoAxis to be reasonable compared to numerous other shops in this road.

If you want to JBL / Sony stuff, there is a place called Sprocket in Ameerpet. These guys are also distributors for these brands as well as Panasonic. you team-bhp may also earn you some discounts. Installers are not usually good in Hyd but i heard from fellow members that the new guy at Sprocket is good.

India De'cars don't stock too many items. Last i interacted with them couple of years ago, they were selling more grey stuff.

When I last visited Sprocket, the guys there seemed to be confused. They didn't know what goods were stocked. Be clear about what you want and talk directly to the store manager. The salesperson knows nothing.

In fact i went to moto Axis, and this is what I have shortlisted- getting the fittings on Sat:

Blaupunkt memphis MP66 HU
rear speakers Blau GTX 693
front speakers blau GTX 542

have been advised by a few members against going for a DVD so have dropped the idea.

This set up is costing me 14.5k (bt plant to negotiate)

gurus- suggestions please.

Hi himanshugoswami,

Did you get all the following

Blaupunkt memphis MP66 HU
rear speakers Blau GTX 693
front speakers blau GTX 542

at 14.5 k?. I am currently planning for Memphis but it retails about 26k. How much did the HU alone cost you?. If you are still running with the memphis, please let me know your experience on the same. If you were able to do any comparison with the Alpine 9887, I would love to hear that also. Thank you.

This is one area where I'd rather watch the advice being doled out than provide any advice. After many changes my Dicor is allegedly sounding good now with the Alpine 9887 + JBL GTO 75.4 + RF Punch Components front and rear. Zak still wants to change the Blau Sub .

JVC DVD HUs cost around 8K. Add 2 screens to that and it becomes 16K. So yes, you are in the budget if you are going to use it with stock speakers. Otherwise add the other costs too

You will have only one video out and hence how does one connect two screens?

Which JVC HU is this? Not the AVX series for sure ...right?
