The answer is simple.
Because we can.
Not quite, Sam. Despite the 8000 W amplifier, the SPL might well be at realistic/sane levels.
The question is a little different: Why would you want to achieve an SPL that you cannot listen to even for a moment without becoming a medical emergency?
(Only at gunpoint would I do something as despicable).

We all know that many here at TBHP have done speeds in excess of 160 kmph. Most are aware of the danger. Yet, for that brief duration, there is a rush that is hard to beat. Also because an accident is not a GUARANTEE.
Not so with sound pressure level. 152.7 db SPL and you ARE going to the hospital and will: a) never again listen to any music in your life, and,
b) never (again?) experience the joy of a nagging wife!

I saw this thread earlier and thought it was one of our LBM ka google find and completely ignored it.

Congratulations on making a good SPL producing setup. Hope you've achieved your goal with ICE.
Oh no! You're still trying to go higher?

He didn't build the system to hit the SPL level, it is the other way around. His system is for SQ, but it is capable of doing SPL as well. This test is just for fun.

OT: This common Avatar is getting confusing now! Guys, what's with it?

This was my true aim when I started to built my step. The main consideration was SQ but which can blow away any SPL setup also. Like Panky mentioned on the first page.

Also this test was just to check how much my setup can do. Like the Engine type long for a Dyno Setup how much power there vehicle has.

Ah! That explains it. Thanks. But the grapevine has it that higher SPL is on the agenda next.?

OT starts here:

Yes, what's with it? And who does it originally belong to? Does that face belong to a real-life person? Alive or dead?
It's darned funny (roak staar!!) but why is the whole world adopting it?
Is there a lottery involved? I'd not want to be left out!
Is there risk of 'copyright' or 'intellectual property' infringement lawsuits?
Does it qualify as 'intellectual' property at all?
