Team-BHP - Just booked new city Vtec plus

i had been to that site earliir while googling for the site when navin had pointed out 560..

also
had gone to my installer ..im keeping the same HU -alpine 925
he gave me 2 options

1- full JBL set up -GTO
rear spkrs 937 -rs 2900
front compos -5 1/4 -2156 - rs 5000
4 ch amp - 50 x 4 (60.4) =rs 5500
OR 75 x 4 (75.4) =rs 8700
Mono 300.1 =rs 7000
wooefr 1100 W (1204)= 2900

2nd option
Kicker rear speakers Ds 6903 rs 5800
kicker compo 550 rs 5200
Blaupunkt 4 ch amp GTA 4 = rs 6000
MOno kicker 300.1 + rs 13500
woofer comp 12 = rs 5400

+ 3-4 k wiring
maybe damping

2nd option is slightly more expy

guys wats ur opinions on these options and the pricing

lotta ppl were debating on whether kicker is good or not earlier so am bit confused

also got Lumar done on the windows.

Ok guys .
did the full install and ..man it rocks

spent 7 hrs at the installer auditioned JBL ,kicker ,DLS,Blau,Pioneer
amps ,bass tubes/subs / compos
finally chose a complete kicker set up for the speakers (some high end front compos as well)
almost chose JBL for the rear ,but it had just a bit more treble for my taste

SO the full set up looks like this

speakers
front Kicker K 5.2 ( this is supposedly more high end than the es & DS series)
rear Kicker ovals 6930 6 *9
sub - Kicker comp 12

Amps -(navin went with both ur recos)

4 ch -Blaupunkt GTA 4
mono -JBL 300.1

(i only realised later that the GTA 4 which was supposed to have a direct aux in -to plug in mp3 player -didnt have it - and the 480 had it ,what do you say ,should i change it -will there be major differentail in sound as well -price diff should be around 3-4 k )

wiring -Phoenix gold -and some other US things

retained the HU -alpine 925 ( tho i m likely to change it later for a DVD one )
and then put a 7 " LCD

1 q - he didnt fix the woofer in the boot .just left it like that .is that ok ?.

then for 1 hr at 11 pm i was cruising around listening to the sound and grinning at the crisp sound and thump ..

Congratulations, @nik9912, enjoy the music!

You should make some arrangement that the subwoofer box does not slide around or roll over. May be something as simple as fixing it down with straps or velcro should work.

firstly he cant just leave a woofer without a box in the trunk it will make no bass in fact the woofer might get damaged too. wierd installer.

I am confused. did you get JBL or Kicker in the rear.

Also the JBL 75.4 is a better amp than the GT4 it is just that the GT4 is great VFM. However the price you posted for the 75.4 (under 9K) makes it a great buy given that it is not available any more.

yep Navin -thers a nice solid heavy box .except that its not fastened .
i spoke to him about velcro straps .he said that boxes are generally left like that .bass tubes have straps as they roll over. ..

i got Kicker 6930 in the rear and kicker K 5.2 (worth about 11 K in market )

yep pricing wise this guy is quite good as he's a friend .he's doen my previous 3 cars as well .
the overall install cost me 38 k which was my budegt anyway ..

also I was looking at maybe changing the GTA 4 to GTA 480 because of above mentioned reaosn ..would you go with that or JBL 75.4 ?and why ?
price for both would be same .iv checked.

and any idea wher il get a wire for fitting my Mp3 player(not Ipod) to the back of alpine system9ipod ready) .he doesnt have it now and i dont know what its called.
