In what way does a speaker's impedance rating affect its performance ? For example the JBL CS series speakers are rated at 4ohms and the GTO speakers are 2ohm.
Since most amps have a higher power output at 2 ohms compared to 4ohms, does this mean that 2 ohm speakers will be louder than 4ohm speakers when driven with the same amp?

There is a maximum power transfer theorem that says maximum power gets transferred when the load impedance matches that of the source. I would think louder volume will be a way impedance match causes.
