Are you guys not realising that every product there is disconned? Special prices on disconned products is the company policy.
Who remembers last years blowout? The change over from the GTO 6 series to the 7?
Aah... Some relief... A feeling to stay away from JBL was slowly starting to creep inside me because many cautioned me that it may be anything but Genuine JBL. Now that Sam bhai, you've approved of the prices, I can try some permutations and combinations...

Now, with my stringent budget I have decided to make a compromise on my HU limiting the budget for the same of 7K (Without B & W)... I've decided to go for either of these three. Can anybody help me with their latest grey market rates-
> JVC KDG635
> Pio DEH P6900UB
> Clarion DB566USB (I feel this should be the best of the lot from the other threads)
> Sony GT460US

I know many of you folks'll frown for including a Sony, but at 5.5K it looks a good deal, and because my usage will be mainly from the USB instead of the CD, I think it should last atleast a year from where I can upgrade the HU.
What say Gurus???

Did you mean WITH? Anyway, both 60.2 and 60.4 have been officially stopped by JBL now. If you can find them, you may get a very good discount too. The 60.2 was priced close to 4-4.5k and 60.4 close to 7-7.5k. No idea with the discounts now. The items in grey (without B&W) would be comfortably 25% cheaper - but not recommended.

Clarion would be the best in terms of SQ out of those IMO. Pio would come next. No idea about the prices of the above mentioned HUs.

Actually Rahgu, It may be a close fight between the JVC and the Clarion and the winner may be either of those, depending on ones taste. Then the Pioneer and the Sony.

Thank you sir! I've always underestimated the JVC, didn't know they were this good. Now that both Sam and you swear by its SQ, I've really got to do some listening.

Ok Folks...

This is what I've ordered today after lots of information digging-

Head Unit
JVC KD G634 (my vendor says this is the successor to JVC KD G635, can some of the board Gurus validate this?)
Price: 5650/-
Amp
JBL CS 60.4
Price: 5350/-
Subwoofer
GTO1000B
Price: 5600/-
Rear Speakers
GTO937
Price: 2800/-
Front Speakers
CS2104
Price: 1150/-
Total Setup Cost: Rs. 20550/-
(Falls well within my budget of 20+2K, the remaining 1.5K can be spent for the installation OR for a 4GB Pen Drive )
All the above prices are for grey units without B&W

The prices I had given earlier were from a different vendor, and I came to know of some cases where his products were suspect. So, decided to stay away from him even though his prices were really enticing.

Any thing that can be done to improve this, or any advice Gurus???

five46, as far as I can see, the prices are all fine.

Few questions - Is that GTO1000B old stock? Becuase it is discontinued now AFAIK.

Why not compromise on the 937 (get something cheaper) since you're getting a sub and get a pair of components for the front? You can get a pair of GTO507s for 3-3.5k in grey.

The other dealer's prices were even better? Jeez! I thought these were low.

You may as well consider a GT5 sub or the older CS1204 if you'd like to.

If you drive most of the time, it would be better to have those components in the front.

Hi, config looks good to me. Go with JBL 6x9s in the parcel tray if you're not getting a sub.

But whatever you do please dont fit 6' speakers in the front doors. Actually it would be like fitting a door into a 6' speaker. Modding a speaker like that is not recommended.

Well, pleased with your response rocksterR. GT5 is still not available with any of the dealers here in our place.
I had a look at the CS1204 as well, the specs look similar except that CS1204 is 300mm and GTO1000B is 250mm. But, the Bass Reflex thing is what made me go with GTO1000B which in my guess will give me tighter bass with a little more thump which will help me to "Flaunt" (one of my primary requirement. ).
Correct me if I'm wrong.
